This thread was fine until a few like you and GRT and Syn came in here to tell people they're wrong for how they feel. Multiple people have asked numerous times for you guys to stop and post somewhere else to push your opinions but you keep coming.Originally Posted by Nirokun!
GRT, you're probably the more ignorant person I've ever met online. Congratulations.

If people want a mourning thread, like i said, make one. There are other threads created for specific purposes about things related to this incedent, and people provided their subjective experience about the incedent itself. The arguments in this thread are started when people (like you) arent reading posts for the reflective information they contain, and throw insults and "gtfo"s (hah, GTFO's, new breakfast cereal) at what people have to say.
How many posts have you made about the incedent that dont attack other people for their views? I've posted like 2, then this retarded one where i have to address the fact that you're not comprehending what im writing. If you dont like what i have to say, dont read my posts, and dont sit there and quote me, thinking i wont respond to you. But theres more to this thread than explosive emotions, there are level-headed people trying to put you on the right track again.
Norelco, stfu.
this is pretty big over here at korea, on news they said he had some sort of a mental problem and his family was always concerned about him

I'm not attacking people's opinions, I'm just saying that there's a time and a place for opinions such as yours and this isn't the thread. I'm the thread creator, and I say this thread is the mourning thread. So please, leave.
Please reply some more...I know you're one of those people who likes to have the last word. So...have at it.
EDIT: There, I changed the title. This is now officially the mourning thread. Bye!
Geno,
I hope you were able to find someone to talk to find some comfort and comfort others yesterday. I know what kind of things can go through someones mind when brutal violence forces itself into your life. One thing I do want to say though is, don't let this change your life. Don't let it become a defining moment. That's something you should create, something wonderful.
Anyways, I hope you're able to be with friends today. That's the best place to be. Take good care of yourself and your loved ones.

I did notice that part of your post as well... which is why I wanted to point out the contradiction. I believe the portion of your post referencing his mental issues to be most accurate.Originally Posted by Elmer the Pointy

Read up a bit on psychosocial and psychotic disorders and I think you'll find that your latter comments hold a bit more weight than those about society.

In the spirit of Norelco's recent posts though... I'd like to again express my sorrow to everyone affected by this incident. I can barely read stories and accounts of the victims while I am work because it chokes me up.
I don't live in Blacksburg anymore, but I lived there longer than I've lived anywhere and it's totally heartbreaking to think of something like this happening in that community.
Most of us alumni won't be back there until the fall when football season starts... I wonder what that will be like...

So the news can see how he was treated previously, yes? Sorry, a normal person doesnt isolate himself, they are pushed to isolation and then become used to it thusly making a person appear that they brought it upon theirself.Originally Posted by Vedder
This is an MMO forum. People isolate themselves every day here.
Yeah I was about to say, disconnecting one's self with the outside world isn't exactly so uncommon that it's hard to believe. You can't blame "society" for thousands of people being inept at dealing with others.
it's not like we're in the middle of some city like New York,
So someone in New York is less of a person than someone in Blacksburg? I hate to say this, but grow up. You know how many people get shot in my city each day? How many times i have to drive or walk past a place where someone i know was obliterated? You aren't the only people who have been through a tragedy, and with attitudes like yours it's damn hard to care.
What's more shocking, to hear a plane crashed on a runway, or that it crashed into the World Trade Center? So someone in New York is less of a person than someone in Blacksburg? Either way it sucks, but I think the point there was more that this is not a place with a high crime rate. It's extremely rare to have any kind of murder or shooting take place. In NY, even as you say, it's not.
It's not that it's less tragic when it happens, but you could perhaps say it's less shocking. It's not as surprising to hear that someone got shot in an ally in the ghetto as it is to hear someone walked into a classroom and started shooting.
It's shocking to think someone walked into a classroom and shot people up regardless of where it is, jesus christ.
Have they released the entire video that he sent to NBC or the 1800 word "manifesto"? I've seen clips of the video on the news but I'd like to see the whole thing without interruptions and news anchor opinions.
