I don't, he sounds like a self righteous loser with delusions of grandeur perpetuated by his belief that he was somehow superior to the people around him and they just didn't know it. Sounds like every other loser that thinks the world "just doesn't get it". Sympathy for a retard like that does nothing, he'd push away anyone who gave him the time of day in the first place. Empathy (relating to being a nerd and not generally being accepted by the 'cooler' people around you) and 'feeling sorry' are 2 different things and he doesn't remotely deserve the latter. I burned down the club house on my block when I was 12 since I was an only child and they had a "brothers only" rule, I don't expect anyone to go 'you poor baby' over it. I mean shit, he likened himself to Jesus. That alone should tell you right now how far gone he was regardless of whether you're religious or not.
Seriously? Damn dude, that's hardcore for a 12 year old.Originally Posted by Ryko

When I was 9 I pushed a kid in front of an open hydrant and he literally flew across the street and cracked his head on a car window. I broke the nose of the kid who picked on me in elementary school for 4 years 3 days before graduation by slamming his face into the gym floor after taking one too many quips, that was when I was 10. A little after the club house incident I had gotten mugged for my game boy, I put the kid that did it in crutches a few weeks later by taking a bat to his knee after finding out where he lived since he had gone to my elementary school.
I'm just glad that none of that shit got me labeled as some sort of delinquent and I had the opportunity to grow up and get the fuck over it.
Well thanks for letting us all know at least (19 pages later).Originally Posted by Norelco

Agreed. When I think of the word "manifesto" I'm thinking of that shit the Uni-Bomber wrote. Thoughtful, articulate, and spelled correctly. This kid was just a moron.Originally Posted by Revenant2

The kid couldn't even get the right address on the envelope he sent to NBC.
this guy at my work used to live next door to him, said he never thought he was nuts or anything like that. i dont know how you can feel sorry for this guy, he's pure evil. i also dont know how he had such a "rough past" unless his father raped him, he grew up in the richest/softest area in virginia.
I think the reason they're referring to it as a manifesto is because there is supposedly an actual 1800 word manifesto included in the package. I guess they have/might not ever release that.
That guy literally sounded like he had down syndrome.
He should have just put it on the internet if he wanted the world to read it. Everyone knows that the internets is the only censorship-free medium these days!

I've yet to meet a person in my life who didn't have friends, and it wasn't there own damn fault for it. Lets not forget. There were reports of him being on a out patient basis at a mental institution, and he checked himself out, and never went to the meetings they set up for him. I understand there was somthing wrong with his head, but in my eyes this kid is evil plan and simple no two ways about it.
Wish the best to all familys/friends of any victims hope you do best you can under circumstances.
Evil? Are you religious?
The way you talk about "weirdos" makes me think you have, counciously or subconsciously, hurt a lot of people in your life too. And to think that it's no problem for anyone to make friends, is naive, to say the least.
It doesn't matter if it's easy or hard, it was self-inflicted.Originally Posted by Rammses

The way he talked in his videos "you made me do this, the blood is on your hands etc etc." Shows he clearly knew what he was doing was wrong otherwise he wouldn't be trying to place the blame on someone else. Yet he did it anyways. Hence in my mind hes a bad/evil/wrong (whatever word works for you) person.
Read my post again. I never once said being a weirdo was a bad thing. I just stated that if he was weird he shouldn't have any problem finding other people who are into the same stuff as him to be friends with.
As for saying i'm naive for thinking anyone can make friends maybe I am.
I'm a firm bealiver in making out of life what you can, and not blaming society for the fact that I was to much of a wimp to have the balls to go up, and talk to new people. Heck the reports even said people tried talking to him, and he'd just respond with silence not saying a word.
that judgement sometimes comes too late.Originally Posted by Dustinsp
If an event happens before youre completely rational, it can cloud your judgement and twist the way you see everything; friends, family, others, etc. Sorry to say this, and it might sound innaporppiate, but sometimes you just have no idea how a persons childhood affect his life. Ever been completely ostracized in grade school or middle school? I kinda understand the darkness this guy once had and if it werent for my true friends i would still blame others. (which btw, its partly true but not to the point)
The fact is once you enter that state of mind where the world is at fault of what they did to you, its EXTREMELY hard to get over it. after a certain point, you shield yourself from personal contact due to fear of being injured by the other person. It can get to the point where no one is important to you nd you question yourself the meaning of it all, just wanting to put an end to your suffering. (which imo is whats hapened to this guy)
In the end it isnt really the societys fault, it just the trigger which caused this person to become the way he was. BUT, he allowed that way of thinking into his brain, he allowed those jokes and ostracizing to get him and therefore became what we see now.
He knew what he was doing and did it, that responsability is his. But its not his responsability what happened to him in his life. Judging with good/evil only makes judgement on this persons act and clouds the truth about his actions. It doesnt really matter if what he did was wrong, because it already happened. The true thing that CAN be done is in fact DOING SOMETHING for this never happening again. (and no, blaming video games, movies, rap has anything to do with it)

If you keep pushing someone, nagging on them, and making fun of them they WILL snap back eventually, and with a lot of pent up aggression. Your free to think what you want but there are two sides to this. One is the loner kid, in this case with a mental problem, who feels misplaced in a society that is entirely commercial. The other side are the people that help to nudge him even farther along with words and actions.
Not all the people that were shot or killed were kids like this though, so dont think im saying that.
Your attitude is very ignorant. Many of these people are ill and in need of treatment. But people like you are making it harder for them to seek help, by telling them they are basically just wimps.Originally Posted by Dustinsp

How much more help can he get?
The docters let him out because he was smart enough to know exactly what they wanted to hear.
