If you haven't left here you don't know. There are countries that may be giving shit away everyday! Canada's one of those countries. You know what they give away? HEALTH INSURANCE!

You can for obvious reasons not compare european nations with perhaps a 2% poverty rate to the USA(16%). The statistics I linked to do in fact show that Switzerland and Finland have relatively high murder rate compared to other european nations. They have the 2nd and 3rd highest homocide rate of the european nations listed, with the exception of ex-Soviet nations (for obvious reasons).

So the question that's been asked for 15 pages, why other western countries with stricter gun laws have less fatal crime, remains unanswered.

If you look at basic human psychology, your reasoning about gun availability is very illogical. Which one of these scenarios is more probable?

The next day he applies for a gun license and after an extensive background check he only has to wait 6 months to legally buy a hunters rifle. After these 6 months nothing has made him change his mind so he kills them.
Alternatively: He goes through the risky process of getting involved in the underground scene for the sole reason of finding out where he can buy a gun from the black market. He doesn't get caught by the authorities and doesn't get involved in any other trouble so when he gets his gun he kills them.
Now, if we look at the cultural aspect, it is safe to assume that "IM GONNA SHOOT THEM IN FUCKING HEAD" is simply not going to pop up in as many peoples heads in the first place, in nations with stricter gun laws.

So many of you pro-guns actualy said it would help lower the crime rate or make it harder for the criminals to do their planned actions.
You always say that those bad guys could still get illegal weapons or use other weapons. Then why the fuck do you not want to fight against that too?

"The guns are only a part of the problem." So why the fuck dont you want to stop that part. Nobody says that you need to follow only one side. You need both, extremly harder access to guns and better education/less social problems.

I completly disagree that america is one of the most free nation. You want guns to protect you from your neighbor. You are scared of terrorists everyday and there are so many paranoid ppl like few here in this thread in that country. Thats realy nothing that represents freedom to me. Basing how free a country is on how easy you can get drugs or weapons is lol

You say other countrys dont have those problems? In germany is a big rate of unemployment, a big problem with nazis and the east germany - west germany gap is still a problem too. And i am 100% sure that at least the nazi problem would be a lot worse if you could buy guns legal here.

I will give a little thing to think about. It would be harder to spot a crazy guy with a gun in a classroom if everyone in there had one.
Take away guns, fight the illegal market, teach your children the value of human life, stop the "america is the best country on the world" shit and stop your fucking paranoia, because little guys holding tight on their guns in fear of everything dont realy look that strong.

Guns don't kill people! RAPPERS DO!

    ------

    Serious note...

When people have access to something that will do plently of damage when your not thinking straight or in desprate need to act.... the weaker person will do the stupid thing.

Give them access and your just as guilty as the person that pulled the trigger in my opinion.

Pistols are for killing people... No country has a fucking right too sell a glock over the counter... I wish there was a way too narrow down what weapon could be used for what. But I cannot see a student sneaking a rifle down the side of his leg in a school, even a shotgun for that matter.

Living where I do in South Dakota its rare to see a house without at least one weapon. My friends were getting BB guns at the age of 9 and .22 rifles at the age of 14. Hell, driving down the road you will see pickups with gun racks loaded with weapons in their back window. In my house we have around 7 guns ranging from pistols, shotguns, and even a ak-47. I never took a gun safety course but instead I learned how to shoot from older people around me. Hunting is awesome where I live, from deer season to the random spur of the moment raccoon hunt. An environment with all them weapons South Dakota has a minimal crime rate. I hate when shit like this happens because it gives people who use guns responsibly a bad rep.

Besides, I would rather have people required to resister and own a gun than have people run loose on the street with weapons off the black market. Usually a legit gun can be traced back to its owner, but there isn't a snowballs chance in hell a illegal weapon with no registration and a pair of gloves will ever be traced.
