Server Transfers - Do we want them?

I'm not a fan of the idea either, it takes the "Grab what gear you can get from linkshell X and run" thing to a whole new level.

The other side of this is

#1. you don't want people that would do that anyway, even if server transfers aren't available people that would do that are a disease to your LS.

#2. it opens up quality players in less than adequate LSes coming to yours.

I guess you're right, no one like that would ever make it into my linkshell anyway, and less idiots on my server would be a good thing. I mean, no one's actually going to migrate TO Lakshmi. >.>

I used to be the biggest bitcher for wanting World Shifts, but at this point I do not want them.

- Dynamis LS's, if an entire LS moves to another server that has a high dynamis traffic volume, then they'll be disrupting the flow, same with limbus.

- Retards, alot of people leave servers because they're pretty much exiled from them, many examples are of asuras retards who bolted to remora.

- Remora >_>, the last thing I want is people from remora reminiscing asura , thinking it's still the same, then coming back with their rmt'ing/pos hacking/bot claming more than it already is right now.

- More gilsellers/buyers, our RMT are the finesse of the RMT world, like we need them to get more rmt zombies gathering and buttraping everything in sight.

I think it would be cool if you couldn't pick which server you migrated to UNLESS you have a friend on another server invite you.

Even though I've done my fair share of complaining about lots of Bahamut Linkshells, it looks like other servers are even worse. I don't want all those people coming to Bahamut.

Server migration would probably have a huge affect on the sever's economy. 100 crafters would all go to the server with highest inflation to gain maximum profit. Gil sellers would flock to that particular server aswell. Servers would become one sided and fail to host a wider variety of players from around the world.

As i said before i have some rl friends that play on another server, when ever i see them and the topic of ffxi gets brought up they say that they would jump at the chance to join me on the server i play on. I would welcome them with open arms also. Even tho it is fun to compare how our ls do things.

Everyone I know either has no reason to move or every reason to stay.

Take Ryunoire on Midgar (please!). She had a crap rep on another server, came to Midgar, talked people into trusting her/working with her, and in the end did the same thing.

I figure that one day SE will just start fusing servers together, maybe limiting access to 1 other server or one time onry would be the limiter until then.

SE will not give the option to flow freely through every single one of the servers. If they DO in fact let us migrate, it'll probably be a once a month/year thing and it'll have a price tag on it.

I could make a database of players & their character IDs you can leave feedback on, so even if they changed their names you'd know who they used to be. :<
