I seriously doubt that's the case, considering the XBox 360 and PC patches are completely separate from eachother.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Hydra just a copy of the standard PS2/PC servers dedicated to those players beta-testing the 360 version? Presumably, those players may have also accessed the server using their PC, in which case they'd have had to update the .dat containing World Shifter's dialogue for the entire FFXI population and not just those who played on Hydra on 360. Mind you I'm talking about when they closed Hydra and made all the testers worldshift out.

One positive and in ways negative will be that at least NMs will be in NA time on and all NA server.

    Good thing : Always campable
Bad Thing: Competing against 14 different shells for 3 hours a day 7 days a week

NA shells camp 24/7 as is, don't think that no JP competition would stop that.

That would be a good way to handle it. Or at least something similar so it shows you have at least some reason to go to said server.

People already do that now while staying on the server. But instead of changing servers, they just do the name change thing.

I'm in favor of it for a few different reasons, with one of the main ones being due to friends on another server.

I think its a good idea for people that are in my case in which a friend you met another game started a character on this game, in my case Everquest to FFXI.

Poor communicatiion on our part since we didnt know til we logged back in on EQ about 4 months later with 50+ characters (was about 3 years ago)

Though i do think its bad to give the ability og gear whores to jump ships from server to server.

    Anyway i voted yes

Keno, why must you go out of your way to prove you are an idiot? There are few who don't already have that opinion of you.

Last I checked she was associated with PlusOne. Pretty much bought the last stage of Zildjian's Aegis. Not sure if she has a leadership role somewhere, wouldn't be surprised though.

And I'd pay myself for her to GTFO Midgard.

Based on the description given by SE about world shift, I voted 'Nay'.

The reason is that the world shift SE currently intends it to work will be a two edged sword. On one hand, it gives players flexibility to choose which environment they would like to play in. e.g. people who are more Dynamis centric could move on to a server with a Dynamis LS that has a schedule that works best for them (and hopefully more competent too). On the other hand, without a good survey of the server you are going to migrate to, it could easily backfires. e.g. RMT could easily infect a Dynamis centric server by controlling the currency market using the gil they collect from other servers.

If SE is to go ahead with this server shift anyways, what they could have done is to compile additional data in their annual world report that could help players to decide which world they could shift to that would give them the best chance to accomplish long term goals. e.g. Entering and exiting time data for Dynamis/Limbus/Savages, average turn over time for HNMs, currency flow from Dynamis/Limbus, etc. It's all things that are "doable" in a reasonable amount of time.

I found the most useless data SE could probably provide is server population. Well, it's good to know server X is most populated and I can understand why SE technician would like to have these data for load balance purpose. But I want to know which server would give me the best chance to find the people that play in my time zone to get things done, ok? The benefit of knowing when people play out weight how many people play on a server. This is why SE's world shift service in the past is mostly a failure, because they haven't paid enough attention to differences in time zone.
