    subligar farming

alright so i have access to two accounts and i really wanna get my hands on a rapparee harness. the jobs i have available for aqueduct farming are thf, rdm, pld, cor, drg on one account and blm, brd, rdm on the other. i would usually just go and try out some stuff but since these are level-capped, i'd like to see if anyone has any experience duo-ing fomors and what would be a good combination of jobs for this particular situation so i don't have to keep buying multiple sets of gear :D

unfortunately, i dont have nin 40+ on either character

If they haven't moved the mobs around since last summer, then go to E-11 on map 2 in Aqueducts. There are 3-4 mobs there, one of which alternates between THF and something else. It's gonna be hard to duo them on those jobs... I think your best bet though is THF with bloody and sleep bolts + RDM.

The THF shares a spot with a RNG in that area. In regards to what jobs you should pick I'd suggest getting NIN to 40; THF mobs don't really miss and Ni at that level is a godsend.

I've duoed those mobs with a NIN on my WHM. Not too bad really. Nicer to throw in a DD as well though.

BST to 40 and using a two hour is almost impossible to lose. Solo.

Edit: WHM (erase) is nice to have because of dancing chains.. unless they nerfed that.

Can solo with 2hr'd Oil Spill, and can easily duo with a SMN using a Gloop. (As BST)

Can be solo'd without a 2h'r oil spill. Just much harder.

....and probably requires running past Taurs during the fight, which is borderline retarded.

Main caveat with a BST I think is the evasion factor. Granted, a single Oil Spill will generally last for a few kills with pet food support...but the other factor is that the THF fomor will not pop every time like some of the other jobs will. A 2hr'ed pet is only good for 30 minutes, which will give you limited chances at a repop of the one you want.

I don't doubt a BST could solo a THF fomor once, but farming may prove less effective than with a duo/trio of other jobs.

I'm talking about with this guys method of soloing without a 2hr'd Oil Spill. I'm wondering how one would do that with a single pet, one that's not an Oil Spill (without 2hr charm doesn't last on those worth a shit, so obviously not using one) and a Gloop just doesn't last... as well as pretty much everything you can reliably charm.

I'm wondering what method you could use to solo one of the Fomor without having to run back past the taurs, since you said "only have to run past the taurus to get there...." (likely without reading the context of what I was responding to)

BST can solo with 2hrd Oilspill in that location, maybe even with the Diremite that pops in that hallway. Easy duo with a pair of gloops.

I seem to remember there's also a non-partied THF in the southern hallway in Sacrarium, if that's correct then BST could probably take it with a 2hrd Blubber Eyes although I've never tried that personally. Just an idea. I think he's in the eastern part of the hallway, past the DRK and the SMN and close to the WAR. Been a while though.

Not sure what combo to suggest out of the ones you have available for either level, sorry not to be more helpful. And I don't know why, but we tend to find the drop rate in Sacrarium isn't great - no statistics to back that up and it's just a subjective opinion.

Pretty easy to duo whm + nin, or whm + blu/nin. Whm makes more sense than rdm IMO, since rdm doesn't have haste or refresh in 40 cap.

As nin I went /thf for eva bonus and TH, since you don't really need provoke. Just keep para/slow/blind on mob and it's not so tough, just takes a long time to chip them down.

With blu I equipped undead killer aside from normal spells, slowed with sprout smack, kept cocoon up and spammed headbutt. Used bludgeon from time to time for damage. You will get hit alot as blu/nin inbetween/during ichi casts, but properly geared with cocoon up, it won't be more than the whm can handle. Whm also had no trouble keeping para on the mob.

You're running past the same fucking true sight mob you had to run past to get there?

    Just a thought.
