Was there a pattern to the beeps? Some PCs/motherboards have diagnostic beep patterns that you can check online and it will tell you what is causing the issue(s).

Last I checked, Vista is still not playing nice with nVidia drivers which is why i havn't switched to Vista yet and probably won't for another year or so.

Some physical hard drive problems can result in noises that sound like beeps. May also explain your crashes. Have you tried running a drive scan?

beeping would get faster or slower depending on what i as running

seems to have stoped now i d/ced the second hard drives restarted then reconnceted it seems to have fixed the problem

i havent had any probs with the vista and my GPU at all just been upgrading drives as they come out

the only real problem i have right now is fear exstraction point and some parts of the original the shadowing is very fucked up but i think its a problem with either the game or the drivers dont work with it properly i had the same problem on XP so it cant be vista

i realy dont get y ppl dont like vista i mean ya its no proformance boots yet but there aint realy anything that makes xp bettergivin time for DX10 to come out and some good 64bit software and vista ganna eb the best and for now it just looks realy kool witch is enough for me been staring at the boring as XP look for so long i just needed a change

Hard drives cant be repaired (as in take it to your nearest computer shop and have it as new).

You can download some utilities directly from the maker of the drive and perform a scan. Or try for a low level format (BACK UP DATA first)

Or else, get a new harddrive.
