    Dynamis Lord Theorycraft

i've looked for prior info on this idea, and i've come up with nothing so far, so please pardon me if this is a repeat. Since Y/Y are generally considered impossible to rip from DL when summoned, and since they have a bad habit of making corpses when left unchecked, i was thinking about ways to ditch them. dl's summons of Y/Y are time based. i can say this for 100% certainty as i have seen a video of DL being kited around the cracks in xarc at full HP and he eventually tried to summon Y/Y.

shows a video of this happening. you can see him summoning, however, since y/y pop back at the tower, they never actually make it.

could they possibly behave like ix'mnk's friends in that if pulled a certain distance they eventually stop sharing hate? (notable that ix'mnk's hate sharing is quite different than dl's with y/y so this may be an invalid idea) also the attestation NMs have a strange way of sharing hate with their friends in that if you pull the NM and then try to sac away the train off of them, all his adds will follow. it is, however, possible to separate them if their adds are popped, then someone tags one of the adds to pull the train then having your primary puller voke the NM out of the train while the rest are saced off. the fact that both are dynamis mobs with a peculiar means of sharing hate indicate that there might be some merit to this line of reasoning.

i know some people will counter these ideas with "just kill him before he summons y/y and save yourself the headache." if this works, it allows LSes with less manpower, less kclub drks, etc to take on dynamis lord and win who might otherwise have been overwhelmed by facing y/y at the same time as DL.

does anyone have any experience with attempts like this? it seems very testable after a DL loss to have someone grab yin and run and kite both yin and yang around the chasms (they don't cast and i don't think they have enhanced movement speed so kiting should be just like the pukis from beauc. either way, they could just die after half a dozen paces.) while another puller grabs DL off this "train" and pulls him.

I recall on a very early attempt trying to kite Y and Y away. It doesn't work. They were voked and run off and they just lost interest.

if you let him summon Y/Y, YOU HAVE LOST.

/shrug, not entirely true. He summons Y/Y sometimes on our runs but we just ignore them to an extent.. they traipse around and kill a BLM or two or seven, but we just stay focused on DL damage and kill him. Not to say that that can't go ugly, but usually he's close to being dead when he summons, so we just continue.

You can pull Yin/Yangs attention if you engage them before they start down the ramp. We do this consistentlly now and we fight DL at the first ledge down.

They do lose attention after a bit if you dont pull enough hate. I have had to hold them solo as THF and usually the one I am not meleeing runs off midway. Converselly if a NIN voke, casts ninjitsu and melees one, it isnt too hard to hold. Either way though you can delay their descent by 30s-1min+ which is more than enough time to take out DL.

We use a solo PLD to flash > voke > invincible.

That usually happens when the bastid opens w/ bindga. it takes us more than 20 secs to kill him.

Have 2 RNG Shadowbind them when they pop.

Have someone stand in front of Zvhal before they are summoned & fight DL at the bottom of the bridge leading up to Zvhal. When he summons Y/Y they will aggro the sacrificial lamb on the way & then reset because their hate is not yet linked with DL. I am not 100% sure if this works, or of the distance DL needs to be away for it to work.

I had heard this from some source, and my LS has only tried it on one of our recent fights, unfortunately we ended up fighting DL way too far up the ramp so they linked on us after.

Just kill them. If he can resummon them the reuse on it is at least 20 minutes.

killing them induces his duplicates to stay up when he summons them from all my readings. i'd much rather try to combat 1 dl and 2 y/y than 3 dl.

Did this once for fun after a wipe, but after they are summoned, you can pull them away normally without link from DL.

Example, kite DL until he summons, kiter dies. >> Pull ying/yang slowly to entrance area. >>> Kill DL like you would normally ying/yang free.

Have i done this myself??? No, is it a possibility that it would work very well for people who wipe to ying/yang during a DL fight? Yes. Only thing is i don't know how well they would actually follow you. Id assume indefinatly.

I don't see why bother. Just have two of your RNGs Shadowbind them, that'll buy you what, 45 seconds if they use AF hands? He generally won't summon until AT LEAST 30 seconds in, so you have a minute and 15 seconds to kill him, which should be more than enough.

    He has Auto-Flee

Honestly I would focus on a strategy of killing DL out right without having to worry about those dragons. My LSs early attempts had us stressing out over those damn dragons but our winning strategy ignores them all together.

If you focus on the pull, engaging at the right time, proper stun timing and damage strategy you can create an efficient plan that will down right kill DL without many problems.

It really does take practice and recognition of fundamental flaws in strategies that simply are not working. If you have a solid group, the only problems you should have is inevitable moves that DO happen, like Oblivion Smashes etc. (Even then you can re-engage to kill )

oh, im not personally saying i use that strategy, i have my own that we use to fight him, and have beat him several times. Just not 100% consistently yet, prolly around 60-70% consistentcy we have on him. The AoE knockback+grav used more then once ruins our day vs him.

I doubt any LS has a 100% win strategy. Sometimes DL just beats you. He has some incredibly bad TP moves, if you get unlucky you die.

Ditto here. Fighting 3 dynamis lords was pretty much the worst dynamis experience ever.

For the groups who aren't blessed with a (few) KC DRK or mass Ridill DRK/ WAR, Pimp MNK etc, just have all BLM save ES and Thundaga3 the dragons as they pop by DL. good dmg overall + no more dragons.

Dragons are summoned 60 seconds after pull.

This doesnt disprove the 20 minute timer theory.

The timer wont start until he summons them. He probably summons them when the zone is loaded and i doubt you get to DL clear the dragons and kill him in <20 minutes.
