FFXI on an IBM Thinkpad T40/41

I'm thinking of picking up a used thinkpad T40/41 (to replace my old T20), anyone have any experience running FFXI on one of these? Is it playable, or totally not worth even considering playing the game on one?

I'm not looking for desktop level performance, just want to know if the game is playable on it, and by that I mean >15-20fps at a reasonable resolution, I'm fine with turning shadows/weather effects off if need be.

Granted, you might not get 28-30 FPS with all the settings maxed, but you indicated that's not an issue.
