Ok, I tested out the MND theory earlier based on the speculation in this thread. My testing was on Stroper Chymes in Ordelle's Caves, as they have significant resistance, even to my 75MNK. Without Formless strikes, I was hitting in the 30s and 40s. After using Formless Strikes, I was hitting crits for 113 rather consistently (60% [58.6] crit rate on 7 fights over the course of one instance of formless strikes). Since I found the crit cap, I waited for the ability to be ready (and for the pops to reappear), and I applied +40 in MND gear (quickly):

Temple Crown 5
Kirin's Osode 10
Promise Badge 5
Twinthread Obi 2
Royal Army Mantle 2
Aqua Ring x2 10
Devotee's Mitts +1 6

I fought all the same Stroper Chymes as before, and just as before I was hitting +/-30s and 40s before Formless Strikes. After I used Formless strikes I had less crits on the 7 mobs ( 40% [37.8]) but they were all for 113, which leads me to believe that MND has no bearing, as it should have raised the cap on crits.
