Gunbuster is like... hmm I don't even know how to put it into words. For me it holds a special place in my heart due to the time in my life in which I saw it & who I saw it with. It's more than just a fan service space opera though. I highly recommend you watch the whole series if you haven't. Bandai recently released it in the US on DVD for the first time back in Feb. I always cry on the last episode.. no matter how many times I've seen it.
