If you don't do anything else, trust me this will be worth it alone. If you go, make sure you bring plenty of bottled water (don't buy any around there because they will be wayyyyy overpriced) and get there very early to assure a good spot.
Oh! Those aren't filmed in LA?Originally Posted by Septimus

Yeah, we knew when we were going down July 4th was right in the middle. I wonder if we can catch those fireworks from our hotel room window? I bet the streets are going to be fucking crazy, so I would try to avoid that lol.Originally Posted by Bxbaby
But thats the only way to truely experience it lol. There's nothing like bein down there on the street with all of the crazy people. Sure you can still enjoy it from some window with a nice view, or on a roof or something, but the same can be said about New Years Eve in Times Square. You want a real experience? Be one of the nuts down there on the street and have a great time!Originally Posted by Epical
Tbh I doubt it but I'll see if enough prodding will make it happen.Originally Posted by Epical
if you want to go to a movie go to the AMC theater on 42nd st between 7th and 6th ave(ave. of America[ns] (i forgot) ).
Go to Ground Zero, go to wall Street, go to China town (well thats the whole downtown area basically), go to little Italy (Its near Ground Zero I think). On fourth of July I will say go where all the masses are going for a better view. I would tell you a great place to watch the fireworks but you will get lost getting there.
Hmm damn you can't go to the clubs =\ (because you'll be here from Monday to Thursday, clubs don't open till Thursday to Sunday)
Go to Central Park, National Museum of History, hmmm the Toys r Us by time square Broadway. Also say hi to the Naked cowboy for me when you are in Times Square.
YOU MUST SEE TARZAN ON BROADWAY. Its that great. Thats all I can think of atm. Enjoy
Edit:
You need to book them 6 months in advance. I will say this about Conan O'Brien, he is short lol. I'll look for the site I got the tickets from and yes they are filmed here.Originally Posted by Avé
I went digging, unfortunately I don't think you're going to be able to pick up tickets. But yeah, they're filmed in NYC.Originally Posted by Epical

There's also a great restaurant you must go to. I can't remember the name exactly, but its a Belgian restaurant called "Pommes Frites," I believe. Maybe ask at the information desk in your hotel about it. This restaurant will give you tons of fries with everything, and some of the best fries you will ever eat. My favorite restaurant from when I visited NYC about a year ago.
I actually got lost around ground zero 2 days ago. (Returning rental car in a construction area sucked balls.)
Wall Street was kinda meh, ground zero was really close and also wasn't too fantastic, unless you're into the sentimental stuff.
Best thing I could recommend to you is to get yourself lost, and just go places. If you get hungry, find some restaurant you've never heard of before, go in and eat! If you see some store that catches your eye, go take a look. The subway takes you pretty much anywhere you need to go in Manhattan. Look for unique stores and places you've never seen before, then just throw yourself in there lol.
Museum of Modern Art, go, don't ask just go.
If I remember right they reopened FAO Schwartz. If so go there and be a kid, it's a fucking fun place.
Make sure to hit the second floor and try some of the candy, O AND CHECK OUT THE GI JOE COLLECTION!Originally Posted by Ksandra
Also, check out Carolines, I think you need to be 18 to enter.
That place is fun, we have one here as well, but everything is so overpriced. >.< Ripping me off on Legos when I was a kid made me angry.Originally Posted by Ksandra

Shoot Johnny Damon.
You're not supposed to go into there to buy things. You're supposed to go in there and play with things lol... I honestly don't know of one person that has bought anything there, but everyone I know that has been there has gone for hours and played with as much as they could lol.Originally Posted by Scythiroth

Its so funny... years back when my parents used to take me there, one of my best memories was waiting outside with my mom for a cab. Every... and i mean EVERY single parent that walked out of that place either walked out with a pissed off face carrying a package, or walked out with a child in tears. It was so funny to see.Originally Posted by Scythiroth

I dunno if anyone suggested this, I kinda got lazy reading through the thread but try Serendipity. It's one of the most amazing dessert places ever. I go there a lot when I'm in Manhattan with my friends, kinda expensive though. Also try and hit up another dessert type place which is also pretty amazing called Pinkberry. It's on 33rd Street and I dunno I'll look it up for you if you want.
