    Favorite Bar

I was just curious to know about some peoples favorite bar on here. The reason being the local college bar in Richmond, KY (Eastern Kentucky University) burned down last week and it was by far the best bar in town and tuesday was the big night that a lot of people 21 and up would be down there. I was curious as to what your favorite bar is where you live and what makes it so great to you?

    I miss my bar.

Edit - I guess I should explain the bar we lost. It was an Irish Pub and Tuesdays were the biggest day because of dollar draft night. With EKU not being a big school you were going to know at least 50% of the people in the bar which always makes for great socializing. It wasn't huge but it was a great place to go relax and talk to people you don't always see around campus.

Depends on the night and the mood I guess.

The Boro, Monday Nights are 2 pints for 4 dollars. This bar is more of the indy crowd I guess but has the beers I like. Dark beers and beers that actually have a taste.

Then you have the normal bars where all the Fratastics go like Gentlemen Jim's where all shots are double shots and the drinks are stupid cheap.

If I go to downtown Nashville, I always visit On The Rocks, Dan McGuiness, Tin Roof, The Flying Saucer, Red Door, or the Beer Celler.

Doubt that many people would come to Nashville but if anyone here is ever in town, lol, hit me up with a PM and I will buy you a drink.

I was actually in Nashville for my fraternity formal last November maybe. We were at B.B. Kings however I didn't get to see much else of the city as we were only there for one night but it was still a blast.

My bar is about an hour drive away from me. It's called "Victory" in Pasadena, MD. It's a laid back veterans bar, filled with old soldiers. One of them is a one armed pool shark! I shit you not, but... I love the place. It's laid back as all high hell, and everyone knows everyone. We get people around my age come in on Thursdays "College Night". Some chick bought me a $70 tab which I have not used in the 4+ years I've had it. I get free drinks on the house, and the owner and I sit around and just chit-chat.

When driving that far is not an option I have a local bar here in Arbutus

Lots of local bands and college students since UMBC is not too far.

Mad Hatter on Thursday if I go out, a lot of College kids.

Mahoney's on Friday nights, you can catch most of the high school teachers go here or Hob Knobn' Pub (sp) again, a lot of teachers, and the owner is cool.

Celtic House on Saturday or Lilly Logan's. I like to end up at Lilly's cause my sister goes here and she can drive me home.

Michael's Sports Bar when it's football season, I go here 4-10 every Sunday to watch the Bengals and Giants.

My college (SUNY Geneseo) must have promoted alcoholism them. $.25 draft night was awesome, although it was only 1 type of beer, Miller Lite. But cheap and easy if you want to go out and get fucked up. They used to have wheel night too...had a wheel with 16 drink specials, spin the wheel every 15 to 30 minutes and that is the special. One of the slots on the wheel was that everything was on special. Everyone cheer when they landed on that one.

Another bar did the same thing with one of those lotto machines with the ping pong balls.

A friend of mine who used to go to SUNY Oswego said one of the bars there had a night called "Penny till you pee". They let you bring in an empty container, and fill it up for a penny with beer. The deal ended as soon as the first person peed or left the bar. They ended up canceling it because people started blocking the bathrooms and the exits and guys and girls started pissing themselves.

We have a bar called Stampede's, most nights it is a penny draft and then I think it is on Wednesday, free draft until 11pm. Then it is dollar beers the rest of the night.

Don't go there often because Cops are like fuckin vultures that haven't eaten in 12 years.

Well hopefully they rebuild and open it back up though I've heard the owner was thinking about just closing the bar down. Last night we had to go out to another bar across the street and it just wasn't the same because there are more locals there and the atmosphere just isn't the same. They still had dollar drafts but none of the same people came out that would always be at the Paddywagon. They also had a Beer Club I think they called it, where you try all 100+ kinds of beer they sold and you would get a t-shirt and card saying you completed it. I was going to get mine this summer while I was living down here but no other bar in town does it.

Mcfadden's at the Ballpark, one of only a couple bars I visit, as I work at this one. If not there its Finnigans or 3rd street. Not really a typical bar, its a sports bar that gets thousands of customers during a Phillies game, but we still have our locals that come back often. Awesome job, great place...kinda clubby at times due to it doubling as a nighttime spot (open till 2am every night). Hot women, good people, good drinks.

Depending on what im in the mood for.

Santa Fe for $1 drafts and where everyone I know goes.

Chef Wangs for $1 shots and being friends with the bartender gets me freebies.

Then either Bullseye or Fat Willies to play darts/pool.

1$ shots of stuff like Patron would end up in the bar losing money wouldn't it? A 5th is about 25 oz, a shot is 1 - 1.5 oz depending on the bar....

Just depends on how they run the rest of their business, but yes they would be losing money on the shots of the higher end drinks. I am guessing it is something like Stoly/Cuervo?
