Merits question

Couple months ago LS friend and myself counted up how many merits I had it was 300+ Not sure how many I have now but the only merits I need to cap me out for my 6 75s are a few in group 2 for MNK, DRK, NIN & RNG.

I've always deleted my combat merit setup and toyed around with different combo's. Long long ago I used to have 6 Marksmenship(For RNG, when 6 was cap). Then was 8 Katana/4 evasion, then one day got Ridill and was 8 Sword/4 Axe. Got Aegis few months back dropped the 4 Axe and added 4 Shield/8 Sword, I'm very pleased with this setup atm & don't ever plan on changing it again.

Once I am completely capped out I've toyed with the idea of deleting my crit rate "up" merits and doin crit rate "down" since I am pretty much only PLD now, who knows.

I'd unlock the important merits for newly 75 job. Then keep working on capping the jobs i use for ls. Only 100 merits here ; ; and they spread thin across 5 jobs (soon to be 6.) My poor neglected smn and brd.

I don't merit a whole lot, mostly because i turn down parties on WHM because i hate curing for 3 hours at a time.

Like.. for melee do you try to keep your weapons even or do you have one maxed?

I have 324 merits and they're arranged around one melee job.

There's no point in having multiple lackluster melee jobs instead of having one exceptional job.

130 merits total, I believe. Black mage and red mage both at 75 and bard currently at 74. I don't believe in spreading merits out in combat/magic skills, I'd rather concentrate on one "main" job first and then move onto others. I'd rather have one pimped job than a few mediocre jobs. Black mage wound up being my main since that's what I leveled first and is usually what I need to be on for Linkshell stuff.

Also I plan to cry and remove all 5 Cure Cast time merits on WHM and cap out Barspells mainly to keep our tanks happy on Tiamat >.> I may cap out -emnity or remove them altogether, I'm not sure yet since I plan to level NIN to 75 next (if I ever find some inventory space to do so >.> )

I think I'm at about 85 or so. I'm pretty happy considering the only 75 job I have is Paladin; not exactly a merit-whoring job if ever there was one.

Unless I really feel like spending another 9 merits to cap off Sentinel recast or another 27 to max VIT I feel as though I'm pretty much finished meriting my Paladin. Having 299 sword skill, with merits and a Fortitude Torque, is fantastic; I only regret it being the last merit that I capped which 'completed' my PLD merits.

The only part of that program that has to do with the windower is the windower macro templates. The merits/exp you have to add in yourself, then you can save it. It's really a neat program. Updated very very frequently too.

Burned out before I hit 100.

Meriting sucks. It's so boring. My mind just goes blank after the first hour and I give up soon after. There's so much better things to do in the game and in real life.

I rarely get more than 2 merits every time I head out.

Seems like a lot of ppl are in the 70-100 range, which makes me feel a little better about my lack of interest in grinding out merits. At least I capped my main job's combat merit, job specific merit, and crit, before I stopped meriting seriously.
