1) It is just "Punch Out!! - Starring Mr. Dream". Not Mike Tyson. Not really that big a deal, but just wanted to clear that up

Was Sandman the one that does the superfast left/right combo, that you dodge 3 times and hit him in the stomach. Then he'll go back and charge and you uppercut him?

First of all, Lil mac does not have an uppercut lol. He has a jump and punch super move lol.

Sandman is the Ginormous Black man with the Perm. It starts with just really fast jabs that you avoid and punch him once.
Then he does his hooks which aren't too bad to avoid.

His signature move is the 4 super uppercuts that does in extremely fast in unison that are extremely difficult to avoid. You will remember it when you see it.

He is easily the hardest fight in the game.

Ninja - I think you are thinking of Bald Bull 2. Where the only way to knock him down is to hit him in the stomach on his bull charge, or hit him with a star punch.
