it's worth keeping in mind that it's much easier to get "the best" gear for MNK than it is for WAR.

With all the new spells, /SAM, etc, DRK can be just as good in merits as any other job.



But yeah if you want to pick and choose between WAR and MNK, WAR is more versatile in almost every situation. Unless you plan on doing KRT >.>;

Don't encourage him.. WAR may be a bigger bandwagon than both of those, but with Salvage still new and not everyone doing it yet, MNK hasn't exploded to the point of mass overpopulation just yet. It will.

The only way SE can rectify this problem is if they do what was mentioned in another thread: have cells @ the start of each Salvage, at least 1 weapon cell would make all the difference.

I've already come across 4 people in my 12 person Salvage group who think they are leveling MNK to 75. All are still under 25 but they think they will level it. And we only started 2 weeks ago...

I'm in the same situation.. though I'll most likely level MNK since I have all the BB items already. Just need Destroyers and I'd be pretty much set on gear since I can use a majority of my SAM equip.

Also, Brown Belt quest hates the fuck out of me. 0/9 on Dodo and 0/7 on Nue.

i don't have ridill or any war job specific merits, yet i still haven't been outparsed by any non-BB mnks save for the ones with capped MNK merits.

though that doesn't prove anything, and may actually only imply that most of the mnks on my server are goddamned retarded.

if you think lacking only adaberk and ridill makes a war "run of the mill" then you've never seen a good war. (or you don't understand how gear-dependent the warrior job is)

equip swapping macros are hard, ungh! D;

won't matter for much longer, though, because with capped katana merits, along with all my other stuff (only missing koga tekko and upgrading from swift to speed/velocious), my nin can keep up with my war and i may as well just merit on nin to cap parrying.

A properly supported (via merits and gear choices) Ridill makes a 10% difference on total damage, in a 3-DD party, compared to the best Axe/Axe set-up out there, just fyi.
Not sure how you can claim of keeping up with MNK/WARs (even non-BB ones) without one though since they're the wrath of god itself in any merit camp.

Ebody on the other hand is just a recolored Haubergeon +1.5. It looks good tho.

Please no Warcry when Monk, doesn't stack with that other JA you use every 60 secs to WS with: Boost. And it won't overwrite the inferior Warcry either ; ;

My sarcasm meter must be failing but still.. lol. I did some minor testing on that a few months ago, if any job feeds TP to mobs compared to the amount of TP you gain it's WAR before a MNK, granted the diff was minor, but Monk was more effiecient, so the stuff that they feed it alot of tp is bull. Subtle Blow is underestimated.
