I've got a few Dittos on my FireRed pack. You get to use PalPark to upload GBA pokemon when you get the national dex right? That's before Dialga/Palkia right?

no, dialga/palkia is before you even get your 8th badge. you can't use pal park until you've beaten the elite four and gotten the national dex.

Ok, so I've got to the second Gym town, Eterna and I'm training my team up to take on the gym (mainly getting my Staravia up to about 24 so it can clear it) and I think my team is lacking something and not sure what it is.

Got 4 pokemon I want to train up solid there and one I dont really like, just using for HMs. Kadabra will get Psybeam at 24 so hes useful against fighting and poison pokemon. I dont really have any rock/ground/fighting moves, except on Bibarel though, and no bug moves, though I'm not sure how good bugs can be, they sucked when I last played in generation 1.

So can anyone suggest pokemon I should try and pick up to fill slots 5 and 6? I was thinking ponyta (bleh at the lack of fire pokemon) to use against steel pokemon, though a fighting or ground pokemon could do that too since Staravia has grass covered. A good rock/ground pokemon could cover steel and electric enemies which I also have nothing really to use against.

So I think a good rock/ground pokemon and a bug pokemon with some good offensive bug moves (if they exist) are what I need, but having not played pokemon in ages, I dont know whats available, anyone got any suggestions? Thanks.

Heracross is the best bug Pokemon, Megahorn and Endure-Reversal combo without having to use TM or breed. Scyther and Pinsir are a close 2nd. Heracross' double weakness to Flying sucks big time.

As for rock, Tyranitar? I'm not sure how far you need to go to get him though. Not a very fond user of Rock/Ground personally. I like my Pokemans fast and Aerodactyl seems to be the only Rock that fits the bill, Kabutops maybe but his moves still suck.

Then just get a physical powerhouse like Machamp/Rampardos who lacks in the speed department and pray, they both can learn RS/EQ too. ;x
