Um I wouldn't just buy Pokemon if you end up doing this. 160$ is a lot of money, but I think that Pokemon right now is a decent investment with replayability and can last for a while considering it's online.

Dunno what the last slot will be, I'm thinking probably the legendary I pull for good Dragon type moves assuming there's a Dragon leader somewhere towards the end of the game here.

Question to you pokemaniacs, is there a downside to waiting to evolve something? I see they get the moves earlier if they aren't evolved so does that mean they end up with less stats to balance it out? I've never really bothered canceling an evolution before ; \

I'm at the 2nd gym and heading to the 3rd and i still havent gotten a fishing rod yet. I dont want to read any guides because that is what I did for every other pokemon I played. But did i pass the dude who gives you a rod? I wants a Magikarp!

Also, are there any good fire and water type pokemon in the wild that i can catch before the 4th or 5th gym? I'm only using Grotle, Luxio, and Starly atm and i kinda want to fill out my team and level them up properly before i hit the Elite 4.

Stats aren't changed by when you evolve. Evolution only dictates a base stats change and the moves you learn. Not all pokemon evolve and learn the same moves. Some evolve and learn completely new moves. See Starters and Magikarp for some simple examples.

Meh, if my fucking Budew would evolve then my team would be set for the rest of the game providing I add a Ghost to my team.

Fuckin, damn you Happiness evolution. I caught it at 5 and it's 14, so that's like +27 happiness to the base of ~70, so he's sitting at about 100, + the 6596 steps I've taken, about +25 happiness. So that's like 125 Happiness only....fuckin shit man. I think if I want my Budew not to suck and learn Learn Seed when it evolves like I want it to I have to walk like 20,000 steps before daytime ends.

I hate not being able to fight the Gym leader because they're out doing god knows what. Maybe if you stayed in the Gym you and your little cronies could actually put up a fight.

I always wished that after you beat the Elite 4 and you're the Champion that you had the option to stay at the League and destroy all the noobs that manage to get past the Elite 4, you know what I mean. Have random encounters of people challenging you, and if you lose you're not the champion anymore

Occasionally a pokemon will learn a move at the level it evolves that isn't learnable by its previous form, but once you evolve it you can just spend 5 minutes in the Underground and get like 3 dozen Heart Scales.

You can't learn moves of previous evolutions once a pokemon evolves even through the Heart Scale Move Tutor guy. Unless they changed it for DP. The evolution must learn the moves. For example, most stone evolutions don't learn the moves of the previous evolution.
