I slather before I go to bed and when I wake up, usually all the trees are occupied, so I dont think you have to wait 12 hours. (I only slept for 6 hours)

So far from last night's slathering I've gotten a Wurmple, a Combee, and that monkey with the hand on its ass.

Well, I understand there's options, but when you can't find players (yes, I get Wi-Fi connection), I can't do anything unless they're sitting next to me. when i thought multiplayer, I thought like Diddy Kong racing, I had plenty of competition there

D/P uses Wifi and Wireless. Wifi is anywhere in the world, Wireless is right next to you.

With Wifi you can do trading and battling, with Wireless you can do those as well, as well as underground, cooking and fashion. I think this is right. You dont need to have friend codes to trade in the GTS, I dunno if you can battle with random people over wifi either.

I'm in the center and when I enter it wont do crap unless I invite a friend. How much I'd love to play with random people are tade with random people

Go to the GTS center to trade with random people, not sure if you can battle with random people though.

I'm guessing GTS centers appear later in the game, which would explain possibly why i'm being limited.

I forget which town GTS is in, but you can get to it before you get your second badge (or right after).
