Woooo! Beat the Elite Four and Champion with this team:


Lv. 50 Luxray "Leone"
Lv. 50 Garchomp "Mako"
Lv. 50 Roserade "Hesper"
Lv. 50 Staraptor "Swain"
Lv. 50 Infernape "Pango"


They leveled to about 51-52 through the course of it. It was hard as hell, because a lot of the E4 had Pokemon 10-15 levels ahead of my team. I remember the Psychic guy stomping me with his Alakazam, because no one could survive Psychic.

Cynthia...my god, that was a close fight. Mako's Earthquake was the only way I won, as it's somehow capable of one-shotting a level 64 Lucario. She got me down to just Mako as my sole survivor, and I had to shuffle pokemon around reviving them and throwing potions and an ether at Mako (He ran out of PP for Earthquake). He finally Earthquaked her overpowered slug for the win.

There's my E4 advice: Catch a Gabite, go through the excrutiating pains to level it, teach it Earthquake, and stock up on ethers!

Nice, grats. I one shotted 2 of her things, the slug, and the Rose with Razor Leaf and Fire Blitz respectively. (Torterra, Infernape) Yea, that Garchomp was a bitch. My Adamant and him kept going back and forth with Earthquake, had it down to like 1%, but then she used Full Restore, (I did too, I had 8HP after Giga Impact). When he killed my Adamant with Giga, I sent Empoleon in, he did Ice Beam witch fucked him up! Then because I knew Empo was gonna die, I did Max Revive on Adamant. He came back, did toe to toe Earthquakes, and I eventually took him down. Her last poke was Lucarico, He went down after 2 Earthqakes, and thats all she wrote! But once again, grats man, I can't imagine doing it will all 50s! Seesh. Wanna battle? ;P

OMG that Garchomp of hers...I went to the pains of getting it down to 25%, and she switched it out on me, then brought it back later only to throw down a Full Restore. It's so. damn. fast., too.

OK, so I had a look at my team and I'm really not happy with it. Dumped Empoleon into a box to start with and trained a Turtwig > Torterra I got from a trade up to lvl 40 to replace him, but thats just the start.

Had a look at the type chart, and tried to choose pokemon that I liked the look of that covered all types of pokemon I might face. Its a bit weak vs Psychic pokemon, with Gengar being weak to Psychic himself, but Torterra and Gachomp have Crunch as well.

This is the team that I'm gonna take to the Elite Four when I train it up. Using only moves that they learn by leveling up (maybe breeding too) so I dont have to use any TMs at the moment.

Can anyone give me any pointers / criticism / help with the moves I'm not sure about, and maybe what items to use please. Any ideas on something I could use instead of boring Rapidash?

Bearing in mind that I'm not going to be using any TM moves, just ones I can teach it by levelling up, the move tutor, or breeding if I really have to, and that this is only for beating the game, NOT for competitive play ( I dont want to hear about natures/IVs ).

These gyms are all really easy, I basically keep one shotting everything with one pokemon lol. Only have 2 in the 40s and got my 6th badge last night.

I really need to raise more though, only have 4 raised, other 2 spots are filled with HNM whores. ;/

I haven't lost to a gym yet. The only ones that were somewhat difficult was the Fighting gym's Lucario and the Ghost gym's Gengar, both of which were more annoying than hard. I one shotted just about everything else. I only have one gym left and the E4 to go.

For the fighting gym, I went and caught a level 5 Abra, levelled it to 16, got Allakazam, owned the whole gym with just him basically. He ended up at around level 30 from that gym lol.

And I had Luxray solo the whole ghost gym with Crunch.
