OMG YOU CAN DRESS UP YOUR POKEMON?! I LOVE THIS GAMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I reset 30+ times to get a Jolly flaming monkey ass, was going for Adamant but a Jolly is fine too after 30 x 10 mins of reset.
Advice to whoever picked flaming ass monkey, don't evolve it to Infernrape until after 46, because Monferno learns Slack Off but Infernrape doesn't, unless you're going for 4/4 attack move then you can skip it.
And Magus, Close Combat > *. Even this fucking Starapetor learns Close Rape, with a decent Attack and Speed to put it to use.

Hey, I just got this game for me, my brother and little sister. My bro and sis are going for the fire and ice type starters., should i get the grass starter or is he really that bad?
Grass starter is hard mode(for most people) I chose bulb on red a long time ago and It was fucking annoying.Originally Posted by Deejay
Well, Bulbasaur was good VS Brock and Misty, but after that he was done.Originally Posted by Insanelol
Bulbasaur is easy mode on RBY because he easily clears the 1st 2 gym. Charmander would be the hard one back in RB since Brock totally owns him and you are forced to evolve a Butterfree. Y made it easier with Mankey but yeah.Originally Posted by Insanelol
Anyway for this gen, the 1st gym is rock while 2nd is grass, the fire starter would be easier since he gets fighting moves at level 14 after 1st evolution.
Grass are usually only good for making sure the guy you're fighting gets crippled with every stat. Stunspore, Sleeppowder, Poisonpowder, Leech Seed, ect. Whereas Fire and water will generally just kill.
JP and US saves are interchangeable, so if you get to the Elite Four and want to do the glitch you can use a JP rom to catch Darkrai/Sheimi.
Unfortunately, your pokemon will still be named in japanese if you load a JP save to a US rom![]()
welcome to page2Originally Posted by Priran
All you said was that you loaded a JP save into a US rom. Nothing about the glitch.Originally Posted by Julian

You can use the glitch on JP version to get to the area to battle them, assuming they are like the old legendaries, standing there waiting for you. Then switch to US rom before engaging and capturing them, then their names would be in English yea?Originally Posted by Priran
Or you could just load the english rom after, and use the name changer npc <.<Originally Posted by Syn
It's pretty obvious though, what else you gonna do w/ being able to use save states in either versions? lol
Damn, they're making us work for her...Originally Posted by Falconblade
no... He learns every move the evolutions do but earlier. Don't evolve him until he learns every move you want, then profit.Originally Posted by Falconblade
Also, Syn resetting for the correct nature on starter is really a waste because their IVs could suck lol. You should just play through the game and breed for natures/IVs after. I can trade you multinatured dittos to get the right nature breeders if you need to. Also, Close Combat isn't that great ;p
Yeah, you can do that.Originally Posted by Syn
Close Combat is a baaad idea if you're fighting something on an even keel.Originally Posted by Syn
Laymen, please. I'm still trying to integrate into the 3rd gen.Originally Posted by Maguspk
And Close Combat raepsssssssss. Every Pokemon has a signature move, mine will be Close Combatttttttt.
