Do critical hits change damage differently than I think they do (2x base power, ignored defense boosts)? Because the most I'm coming up with in regards to how much that move should've done is less than 200 damage.

200 on a crit even to a perfect Vaporeon sounds really low.
Although 400 does seem strange :/

That also brings up a question I wanted to ask. My friend claims STAB is 1.5x multiplier to damage. I thought it was .5.

it's a 50% boost to base power, which is the same thing as multiplying the base power by 1.5

It's 1.5x the moves base power.

.5 increase and 1.5 multiplier are effectively the same thing.

100 > 150
75 > 112
40 > 60

etc.

So uh..anyone else have problems with the 3 birds on FR/LG? I've never had a problem with them on the originals but on the remakes they seem harder to catch..I went from 30+ Ultra balls to 3 quickly trying to catch Zapdos(adamant wewt, unless thats normal idr). The trio on D/P wasn't that hard to catch
