I think he means it makes you catch more items. Kinda like an anti-fisherman's apron.

I didn't say it would be useful, here are some other stupid, things they could give:

The katana would probably do something like give you counter.

The bard dagger would probably give you double attack.

Thief dagger would give mdef bonus.

If it was a counter rate that actually mattered that may actually have some application if the weapon was a lil better dmg/delay wise.
More likely to give MAB I trait though since ninjas could so use that for their ninjutsu.

I know it doesn't pertain to the immediate topic but I thought this was worth sharing, though probably not worth its own thread. When I opened up POLUtils to verify that Killer Bow is in fact a crossbow (it is, by the way), I noticed that there were four weapons added in the last update, with their names removed but everything else intact, all appearing to have maneater-type latent effects and corresponding to weaponskills for which no such weapon is available from ENM or IS.

Staff: D60 Del399, Latent: D66, Lv73 MNK WHM PLD DRG
Great Axe: D91 Del504, Latent: D96, Lv73 WAR DRK
Marksmanship: D35 Del288, Latent: D39, Lv73 WAR THF DRK RNG
Katana: D27 Del190, Latent: D32, Lv73 NIN

We just got the WAR Gaxe - see the Nyzul thread in the strategy for screenshots if you don't believe me. We're going back in with a WAR using it now. We'll report any results we find.

Well, we just cleared and got WAR axe. Starting our second disc now, and we'll be sure to run as many tests on this thing as we can. We'll keep you posted with what we find.

If you look in the original image of the weapon dropping, it looks like the WAR that has it equipped was NIN for that run, so it could just be a coincedence.

Yea, he was definately NIN when it dropped. I doubt SE would code it to read who has what jobs at 75 and drop only one of those. People are just getting lucky and really, most good groups probably have people with several 75s. I know my group of 6 has every job 75 or close except BST and PUP.

Initial, cursory tests (bullshitting through some lower floors with the axe on) show nothing extraordinary that leaps out. It's nowhere near scientific, I know, but we really didn't have any time to party after and parse it. Our best guess at the moment is like many of you think - an upgradable weapon whose upgrade path has yet to be revealed. Hell, it could possibly even be upgraded with tokens at a later point. We're going to keep farming complete paths for weapons in hopes of getting one for everyone who wants one. We'll keep you posted as to whether we find anything fun out about this thing.

If it's got a latent that's activated by wearing the full Nyzul armor set, I'd probably be seeing people digging out the pitchfork and torches for S-E.
