actually I think they're more aware of that now.. even claustrum had that refresh effect but having to tp to 100 before you could proc it somehow made it lame..

as for the group that got the Sturdy Axe.. i trust that they'll test it out well..

statistics that could help us unravel the drop trend would be stuff like who the disc recorder is.. and what jobs he has at 75, and what jobs the rest of the PT has at 75....

if it was any job at 75 whose weapon coulda dropped, they might as well have gotten PUP Inferno Claws becos Bobdeez has 75PUP.. (and his MNK has Spharai so I doubt he needs another MNK weapon >_>) and to think I saw them yesterday at the Nyzul entrance.. ill go ask questions later

I made that suggestion like 2 weeks after they added them to the game, only to see it repeated (half the time by myself) about a thousand times since then. Bercus or somebody who has access to SE uppers needs to add that (or something encompassing that) as a question or comment.

BLM relic needs to be the legendary staff from FF5, I think it was called 'Ultimate Staff'. It was basically like Fire/Thunder/Ice/Earth rod all combined. The FFXI variation could be like +15% Elemental Magic Damage/ Magic Accuracy, or rather all 8 elemental staves in 1.

    Also, damn you Louferigno. You and your party left me dead in Bhaflau. Everyone /examined me then just ran to the Runic ;;

for a 200-300 million weapon I expect more then a all in one combined HQ ele staff. I would expect at least something gamebreaking that moves you out of the masses, like aegis and gjallhorn do. SE just needs to revamp all relic weapons.

    Example:

    Amanomurakumo
    Accuracy +20
    Tachi: Kaiten
    Additional Effect: Weakens Attacks
    "TP-regen" 10 TP per tic.

    Mjollnir
Attack +20, change to Cure Potency +20%
    Randgrith
Additional Effect: Restores MP, change to "Adds Refresh effact"
    -7enmity
"Divine Veil" (all the time up)

    Claustrum
Accuracy +20, change to 25% accuracy on elemental spells and -5 Avatar perpetuation cost (hidden)
    Gate of Tartarus
Additional Effect: Dispel, change to "Adds Refresh" effect
add "Astral Seal" (Bloodpacts from Astral Flow will be all the time accessable)
add "Elemental Spell V line" (get Aero, Stone, Blizzard, Thunder, Fire and Water V Spells)

    Kikoku
Attack +20, change to +35 Attack
    Blade: Metsu
    Additional Effect: Paralysis
add "Utsusemi: San" (Nin can use Utsusemi: San when weapon is equiped)
    add +8 Enmity

    Mandau
Attack +20, change to +35 Attack
    Additional Effect: Poison
    Mercy Stroke
add "Sneak Stroke" (attacks from behind the mob have a chance to deal high critical dmg (sneak attack like dmg) for no additional hate)
    add Evasion skill +10

    etc etc.
This is what I would understand under a good relic Weapon that is the 200-300 millions worth it.

Don't worry - we will test it out some more to look for some more... subtle differences. The disc recorder was Kainomega, who has WHM/SMN/DRK/THF. Between our entire group last night, we had 15 of 18 level 75 jobs covered, lacking only COR, DRG, and BST. We're probably going to keep repeating this until the people who want a weapon get one. If you've got any other questions about any of this, feel free to get me in game later on, or just ask on here if you want.

EDIT: And Damane... those ideas... just...

Oh, and a rather amusing note. You can continue on after clearing floor 100 in Nyzul. It knocks you right back to floor 1 and you continue to progress and earn tokens. We did it for shits and giggles since we had plenty of time left after hydra.

They should just had it like the Shigeto bow, that multiple jobs can equip but it'd say :

PLD : Additional effect - Provoke
RDM : Additional effect according to hP blahblah

The new weapons are either going to be accepted completely (A.K.A: SE listens to us) or they're going to be the next lolitem. GAxe for WAR is already pretty lol, they'll have to do something seriously amazing with it for people to even consider it as a weapon. Staffs tend to be for SMN and BLMs which unfortunately seems to incline SE to just make them entirely useless. The last truly awesome items for SMN came in the form of Bahamut Staff and the YY Robe, but the last revolutionary BLM item was.... our JSE.

If these weapons revolutionize jobs and make it so the mages stop having to carry around a billion items in their inventory just to switch in/out then they'll be worth it. If not, I refuse to let SE forget what is potentially a humongous blunder.

    Ah-wa?

SMN don't usually get a lot of good gear, yeah(blame SE for making Avatar's strength have nothing to do with a SMN's stats), but there have been plenty of good pieces for BLM since CoP.

And I'd say the last "revolutionary" piece for BLM would be Obis, which came out after our JSE.

SMN got kicked in the nuts for gear, so did BLMs. I'll give you Obis were pretty f*cking sweet but they still kick us in the nuts a lot for overall stuff.

I'm going to have to disagree with you slightly. Maybe if you compare BLM to a melee job, yeah, but I don't think you can. In just about every RPG game with classes that comes to mind, gear is always better for the melee.

But more to the point, and I'm talking about BLM here, Yigit was actually pretty nice. None of it sucked, with one or two pieces actually being the best in plenty situations. You can easily go full Yigit on a BLM and only-just feel it, making it a great space saver for non-career BLM.

The same could be said for the Salvage gear, which if the set bonus is good enough, could actually replace everything before it lol. And you'll be lying if you said SE didn't show us "hMP+" gear love, something BLMs love and should love.

to the point: BLMs love to bitch.

Have to disagree as well~though honestly, what do you consider "revolutionary" for a job, anyways? In endgame every goddamn piece is a tiny incremental upgrade, nothing is really going to change how you play the job; the only things that do that are job changes, such as the new sam abilities, the massive upgrades to pld, and the pile of new drk spells.

In any case, I have to argue that actually much of the endgame blm's gear has been upgraded significantly since the introduction of CoP. That's less true since ToAU, but Morrigan's gear is still Very hot (body, legs, feet mainly), yigit feet are still the best, goliard feet are win for hmp and if you don't have yigit, and there's a bunch of Very new hmp items as BRP said in the qiqirn sash and phi necklace along with like the hmp cape. Sure, we don't get a new earring, but how do you beat novio + moldavite anyways? Plus you can now even upgrade a ring to the epsilon ring if you need it. Bottom line, I may not replace my zmitts anytime soon, but morrigans gear will keep me happy (and should keep most blms happy) for some time.

Back on topic, it sure would be nice if there was a side-grade for hq staves. If this "mage's staff" is it, then god bless SE. Kinda doubt it though. What would be hilarious is if SE ninjafixed the claustrum to actually have the 20% dmg bonus we all expected it to have, and now that nobody is willing to spend 300mil on a relic staff we'll never know.

Sturdy Axe: Occasionally attacks 2~3 times (would be ok if it did so with lower damage while under 100 Tp, then went back up to higher damage over 100 Tp/During WS... LIKE THE AMOOD SHOULD HAVE BEEN)

    *RAZZERFRAZZERSPITCUSSDAMNATION*

Anything less and they have failed us Great Axe fans.

Heh, Novio came out nearly a year after JSE and it's at least mathematically the case that the difference between Novio and the previous alternatives (Abyssal/Phantom or elemental) is a greater improvement than weskit vs. errant body. That doesn't account for the benefit from head/legs for solo though, I suppose, which is pretty important if you do that a lot. CoP was actually pretty good to a BLM, from iqurra gear, making all the mission BCs pretty BLM-friendly, opening up new spots for BLM exp beyond the two camps at KRT which were usually overrun with MNKs, and good soloing areas, Novio, Merciful Cape, Obis.

You guys are starting to sound like spoony or snoopy or whatever the hell the squid-head guy's name was, although I guess I also always check the .dat files after each patch for the prism staff, super-obi, and HP-25% ring that never comes.
