Looks cool. I loved the first two movies. I've heard that the books are really great, but I tried a Ludlum book once and found it a bit hackish, which is strange since I like Clancy...

Looks good, but did anyone notice that the camera work in the second one was really shaky? Like i get they use it to create a sense of like movement and crap, but they did it i think through the whole movie. I just found it annoying after a while. Hopefully the 3rd one dosent do this as often.
I can't wait for this to come out. But, they really need to write Bourne to be how he is in the books. In the movies they have Bourne doing very stupid things that the book Bourne wouldnt do. I mean checking into that hotel in Germany with his passport and name, yeah thats gonna go unnoticed...
Wow, you're pretty retarded.Originally Posted by LLK
Watch the first two over, everything he does is for a specific reason. Its like a giant chess game and he is ten moves ahead.Originally Posted by Pinger
The last time I went to a Bourne movie there was a false fire alarm right in the middle of a action scene (the car chase in #2, iirc) and we got interupted right in the middle, had to wait like 10min to resume >_>
Looking foward to this though.
He checked into that hotel w/ his name and passport because he wanted the CIA people to follow him there, so that they could try to think about why he might go there. He lead them to the room where he did his first mission deliberately, not because hes "retarded".Originally Posted by Pinger
That car chase is epic too =(Originally Posted by aers
Got some of the books and own both of the movies, can't wait. ^___^
Meh. I don't really dig Damon or Affleck. I generally perfer more horror films or B-style movies to something like this.
And if I do get into an action movie it has to be something Unique like Equlibrium.
Anyways the Robert Ludlum novel is still > these movies.
Precisely because he's pulling that shit off in a mini.Originally Posted by Xavier
watch it again, he is in a daze from having flashbacks of his first mission. And when he goes to leave the room of where he killed Nezky he goes to the door to leave, not a good exit when you know you got cops comin for you. Of course that is just what i think.Originally Posted by Xavier
The movie still kicks ass tho.

He could've just not expected them to show up as quickly. I still go by the one quote in the movie:
Pamela: "Well then hes making his first mistake"
Younger Girl: "These guys don't make mistakes, they're trained to be perfect."
So I stand by that even if he was dazed, he knew what he was doing in the grand scheme.
Xavier is right, Jason Bourne does shit perfectly, if you read the books you should know this. The few times he thought he made mistakes they turn out benefiting him in the end. Although Jason Bourne wasn't only very trained but also driven at first by vengance and then by love. Gotta read the books
Seriously, the movies really really suck when compared to the books. Not even exaggerating here, but seriously pick up the first book and if you aren't hooked by the 4th Chapter you have a mental problem or something. They are TOTALLY different from the movies. Honestly, I don't see why they didn't just make the movies more parallel to the books, because even watching the director's cut he admits that the books are very different and a much more powerful story, but his reason for not using them is weak. "Technology has advanced so much that we need to update the Bourne Story". Uhm no dumbass, you need to just make your film take place in the time the story took place and end up with a fucking kickass movie.
In short, go get the fucking books and read them. If you're creaming jeans over these trailers of these movies, then you'll cream jeans at the end of every chapter of the Bourne books, all the way until the end, I guarantee it.

I'm sold. Gonna check these out. Thanks.Originally Posted by Maguspk
Sweet! I got my first one at a Library book sale they were selling books in my small home town at the library for like 50 cents a book so I picked it up after my mom recommended it (about 3 years before the first movie came out). I didn't actually read the book until after seeing the first movie and after reading the book I was like, wow books > movie. But ya, find some softcover copy of the book at a bookstore or something and PM me after reading the first few chapters, or bump this thread :DOriginally Posted by Norelco

the vietnam war is the reason he became jason bourne, but i do agree a spy flick set back then could be a hard sell this day and age. one of my absolute favorite things about bourne is that in the novels he was doing the most ridiculous shit without the use of anything remotely close to the technology we have today.the books were vietnam / cold war era
ya. The whole second book though they could've just copied into movie form. I really wish they had... One of the best parts of the book is where he pushes the British imposter up against the fence and ties his hands to it, then cuts out the wire in the shape of his body to restrain him in the position the wire forces him into.Originally Posted by tyven
Then the final fight in the woods with the asian guy he bested earlier vs the elite guards and shit... I live for the fight scenes in the books.
Jason loves the darkness and the forest, two things you never forget after reading the books. So many badass things go down like that. Oh ya and "Move!" or "Now!" lol.
