one job merits work for other jobs?

As the title says, for example I have a blm75 and this is my only 75 job now and i was wondering if for example the merits put in lighting potency will be avialable for use if I lvld rdm to 75? I can't test or anything because i only have this one job to 75.

The job specific categories apply only to those jobs AND only if they're 75. If you don't keep enough buffer and delevel your BLM to 74, those Thunder and Ice potency merits will do nothing for you until you ding 75 again.

the key is that they applie only when you're 75. So when you enter a lvl 60 capped area you are not anymore lvl 75

Your global merits also get capped down. Like with Combat skills, if you merit one to lv8, you'd be capped at lv6? or 5? in a lv60 cap area.

7, actually, if they work like MP/HP merits, which kick in at 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 55, 60, and 70. I don't have any combat skills merited that high, so it could be different for those.
