    Laptop Advice

My laptop died last week because the motherboard died and I need to get a new one. My question is: generally speaking, what should I be looking for in a laptop? I don't want a Dell, since my last one was a Dell since it was loud and I don't really trust them (a motherboard should last longer than 2.5 years, right?).

The most important thing would be to make sure I get a good graphics card ... I think. How do I know what is good and what isn't? I kinda want to get my laptop fairly quickly, since I go back to university April 30th, so I think I'll be buying from Future Shop or Best Buy since I'm not sure if ordering online would be fast enough.

Any constructive advice would be appreciated.

Some threads on laptops I found in search -- hope they help.

I'll be looking the market for a laptop in like 6 months or so, and I can tell you I think I'll be getting a Mac. I'm too tired of virusses and whatnot.

If you weren't looking for a strong graphics card, I'd tell you to get a tablet PC from toshiba. Those things kick ass.
