Alternate universe, aka Earth Prime, or maybe we're Earth Prime.

    THIS MEANS SUPERHEROES DO EXIST!

I just read the actual article, sounds like this could actually be for real, not that it'll really matter in my life-time.

I liked the part where one year on the planet they found was the same as 13 days on earth, lol.

This is so interesting! How far away is it from us? I know it said something like 20 light-years but I'm not exactly up-to-date on my space lingo.

I thought I read that they found another planet like Earth before, but it supposedly looked more red (might have just been the artist), and I think it was too far from it's sun to have liquid water.

    In any case, very cool

light travels at 186,000 miles per hour so that's 4,464,000 miles per day or 1,629,360,000 miles per light year and 32,587,200,000 for 20 years....

.......ok i just confused myself ........

    someone else explain it

In terms of miles, I think its like 120,519,500,000,000 miles away.

If we wanna make good time, we should probably start heading there now Lbelle. We can use my car, but you'll have to pay for the gas.

Fortunately there's not much friction in space, so you just need the gas to get the car started and you can coast the rest of the way.

If this is the case then we have a deal! Bring Nikkei and us 3 can be the first princesses on Gilese!

Wouldn't the amount of energy needed to actually stop the car going at the speed of light in a frictionless environment be fairly large (lol)? Thats bound to get pricey.

I wonder if we could pick up reception for Bravo at that distance..I don't wanna miss Project Runway.

If there is alien life out there, I wish they'd just be more advanced than us, but at the same time really benevolent, and just seek us out already. It'd really save us a lot of time to just get the whole Star Trek "first contact" outta the way.

shit...we'll just have to get someone to tape it for us! That way we can just fast forward the commercials because it'd most likely be over by the time we got back.

pssh a car wouldn't have the braking power needed for this, you should use the new gixxer 1000, the brakes on these are space age. though you could only get 2 people on it.

Would be more fun if they're in stone age, you could just bring a gun or a flash light, they'll worship you for being able to kill with pointing and getting light out of nowhere.

    And don't forget the lighters.
