I want to point out that IGE and probably the other companies more than likely didn't lose any gil in this. I'm almost positive that the majority of the gil is kept by the farmers (who are not employed by IGE) on their mules. When IGE gets a big order, they probably contact the farmers for a transaction. The farmers trade the gil to IGE, then IGE trades the gil to the asshole who bought it. This way IGE doesn't give a shit if SE goes and bans bank mules, because IGE doesn't have any (or very few at best, to appease the purchase of 1M here and there.) Just means the farmers level new toons and work to replenish the loss.
