Friend of mine quit Denny's after having non-stop problems with management. So he made a nice letter of resignation and all, set the date.... then on his last day skipped down the isles throwing pickles like confetti all the way out to the door ;x

Mebbe it's one of those "you had to of been there" things.. but hey, we'll always have the infamous pickle incident of 1999.

Writing a letter of resignation is the most professional way to quit a job. In it you can explain that you enjoyed your position there, and how much fun you had, what you will miss etc. And it also takes the edge off of a confrontation which is always nice.

Just make sure you tell all the ladies that you got fired for drinking on the job and what an asshole your boss was and how unfair your life is and that you need $10 for some gas.

Best "quitting" I have ever seen wasn't even where I work, I was visiting a friend that works in an IP law firm, and one of the people training in patent prosecution just threw her hands up in the air and said "Fuck this shit, no one tells me what to do!" and stormed out, in front of one of the partners and a few associates. Hilarity ensued.

[Edit: Good job on being responsible. Remember that the toes you step on today may be attached to the ass you have to kiss tomorrow. Other people have said it, but it really is best not to burn any bridges as fun as it would be, and even though it takes a little more effort and composure to be "the bigger person" or more responsible, it hardly takes any to be courteous to people where they remember you fondly and have a good impression of you.]

Leaving my first job out of college today, been here almost 2 years, going back for my MBA. Never had to quit a job like this before, should be interesting.

I'd appreciate any advice or just wishing me luck!

All I can say is way to go man! It takes balls to give up a nice paycheck and go back to school. It's something I hope to do shortly.

Edit: What was your Bachelor's in? Also, what specialty on the MBA? Oh, and where?
