    Server Balance

I'm not sure if this is where this thread should go, but I'm bored at work and wanted an interesting thread to occupy my day that I haven't seen before.

Basically, after doing a lot of looking, and a little research, I've noticed that it seems pretty unbalanced as to which servers hold the most relics, and the most abjurations, and other such highly covetted items.

I know that drop rates are random and such, but I'm curious, why do you think that it is that some servers seem to have higher amounts of these items, in specific, and in general, than other servers?

GDI when I saw this thread's title I thought maybe SE had posted something about server transferring with statistics of how many players were on each server, and you'd just relayed it here.

    Oh well.

I would LOL if they just auto-balanced the servers like they do Ballista.

It'd be time to start levelling a new job, that's for sure!

In the book of how to fuck up your game so nobody ever will play it again, that chapter is after the CoP chapter. Dont give them any ideas, the game is actually going good right now.

How about people from different servers just post how they think the population and item rarity are on their server? ^__________^

Kujata - We've got lots of M.Body people floating around, too many dalmaticas, and not too many e.bodies. Ridills aren't too common, but they're.. 'plentiful'. Two or three NA d.rings, and a couple Maat caps.

Uhh.. population is decent, there are about 5 'main' HNMLS, and a few 'lesser' HNMLS that only show up to certain things (Cerberus, King Behemoth, etc). We're are fairly civil when it comes to getting along, but there will always be the little feuds between a group of people in different linkshells.

JP are caca on our server, at least the ones we camp kings against. There's an LS on Kujata that teams up with JP for almost everything, and a lot of the HNMLS have a few people who speak japanese or chinese.

Edit: Kujata people feel free to correct me or add shiet. ^__^

I think it's funny how so many servers think they're "behind" in the endgame scene. I'd say most of the servers are about equal, the grass is always greener on the other server cluster, etc.

    Sylph

Sylph has picked up the ball on relics, more so then when I started my own. The biggest drawback was the fact that (on at least the NA side) we were still stuck 2 years behind other servers on overall progress. New relics pop up on a monthly basis but almost all are on the JP/TW side. (I think there are only 2-3 NA relics including my own)

The biggest problem with relic progression on our server is the gil buyers. As much as the NA community likes to point out NA gil buyers and run them through the streets for drama purposes, the most elite gil buyers are JP/TW. Some of these people have purchased not just a few million, but a few 100 million in gil. (The JP/TW community has a cute name for these guys as well.)

Then their are those who have banked a ton of money over the past few years and are just NOW getting around to doing relic. Both these factors combined with the "Everyone and their mama is doing relic" has stunted relic progress on our server by keeping all the dynamis currency high while everything else drops like a rock. I sat on some gil and tried to save before I went for my final stage but I dont think relic prices are going to drop anytime soon.

To put it in perspective: When I started my first relic over 19 months ago, Dynamis currency was running around 9-10k. A few months before that, I remember prices being 5-6k a pop. They spiked to 25k a pop around that crazy christmas year and since then have dropped to 9-10k a pop. The problem is the same stuff that was worth a decent amount when I started is near worthless and takes a lot of time to move. But since gil buyers and people with mega bank they sat on all these years are just now buying currency, prices remain relatively high.

This is my opinion on the matter, coming from someone who has basically sat around for nearly 20months doing nothing but relic related activities in his free time. What might happen in the future? Well, simply put, people will finish their relics. Im waiting for some key players to finish up their relics, or run out of gil, or get banned . I also hope to see more LSs, especially in the NA community, pool their efforts for LS relics, instead of letting d-currency drop freely when they have the perfect opportunity and resources to do something with that currency and their LS.

As for sea, we seem to be on par with other servers. As a matter of fact, I think Sylph was the first to kill AV (Fortune w/ wall cheat).

    King gear. Its been the same JP/TW groups @ the kings since their implementation it seems. Most NA LSs camp only during reasonable hours while the same JP/TW groups camp around the clock. There is plenty of body abjurations and ridills around both sides but not many D-rings at all on the NA side. (I cant think of any active NA players with D rings atm. KB refuses to drop PLD gear for my LS at least, so I know we dont have any ;

What IS interesting is our economy. We had the most inflated for awhile there. It took 3 banning runs but we have actually stabilized AH wise it seems.

As for RMT progress. Our resident RMTs are retards how can barely kill KB. But our elite GoldBBQ RMTs are up to killing KB and Fafnir (GoldBBQ is a cross server RMT group that consists of players from all over the globe, including NAs)

    Some corrections to Tekki's post:

Fortune was the first to kill AV and get drops. They weren't the first to kill AV.

KB went through a crazy streak of 3 d.rings in 4 kills a month ago or so, and there was an NA that received one of those.

Now for my angle on lolSylph:

Kings are by and large dominated by two (three really, but ManaR and NN work together) JP/TW shells that camp around the clock. NA show up to 5PM-10PM EST camps for Fafnir, day4+ KB, and weekend Aspi.

LS's go through cycles of camping things heavily. There was a time BR/Arista rushed down nearly a dozen straight Tiamats, but lately SX has been camping him hardcore. The same kind of thing happens with Cerb/Khim from what I've seen.

There are very few Dynamis Lord kills on Sylph. The number of NA LS's that have taken him down is about even with the number that have Tavnazia access.

I think that Siren end game drama thread a while back describes how things are with us =/

I'm not too up to date on who has what items specifically, however I know that Odin seems fairly marginal on the amount of body abjurations & items such as D Ring. The hardest thing to pick out is who exactly has what items, mainly because a large nature of our LS's push people with those items to play other jobs.

Or, they get those highly covetted items, and never play that job in practicallity.

We have one JP, who I think sold his character, that is a 100 GS, who had full Kaiser before almost any NA had Koenig body. I'm sure he's got D Ring also, and he's got Aegis. But the funny thing about it all, is I haven't seen him play PLD since about late 2004, and that was only at one camp that I saw it.

I know one of our server's most famous people is a little JP Taru who has 3 relics, as well as a full Martial set, and so on.

In general, I think I've seen a small handful of Dalmaticas, perhaps really only 3, one of which was the first JP I mentioned.

E Body, I know of probably about four or five floating around to this day.

I think I see Odin's biggest concern with people who obtain those hard to get items, is that they get them, and then quit. I can name like 5 PLD's with martial body who quit within 6 months of getting them.

Sorry for my info being so ambiguous and PLD oriented. But I'm a PLD. So it's my focus of interest.
