True but you gotta remember about 95% of movie watchers aren't downloading illegal movies and we already know that there aren't that many HDTV owners either. Another thing I read another article that said this HD-DVD player isn't coming out till sometime in 2008, by then it will be to late for HD-DVD because the main problem with HD-DVD is that it has no support. Big movies like Spider man 3 and Pirates of Carribian3 will be Blue-ray only due too the being made by Sony and Disney.

It's still too early to declare any winners here, as both of the formats are not made cheaply enough yet to really push DVD out the backdoor.

But its pretty weird how these "sources" can be so far off course from one another in these sales statistics.

And there's a smaller % that care about HD movies. I'm not saying HD-DVD will win, I'm saying neither will. It'll probably go the same route as audio. CDs to digital distribution. Anyone remember SACDs? Hear anything about it lately? With MS, Apple and other manufacturer's trying to do the IPTV thing, and most people happy with DVD/not wanting to replace their collection, it'll be difficult for any HD disc format to beat out DVD/online distribution.
