--Version Update 11/2007--
In the upcoming version update we have more surprises for veteran subscribers and some new items for newcomers!
-New NPC is now located in Whitegate next to the Salvage Armor merchant!
-The new Dynamis areas feature synthesis materials necessary for making Relic Armor +2!
-New job armor will be available in the new areas but only 3/5 pieces will be implemented!
-Set bonuses are available on all Relic Armor sets since they're all the rage now!
-No you can't get the Set bonus on BLU, COR, PUP until we complete the sets!
-Takahashi spilled spaghetti-Os and Coke on the servers again so we'll be doing a random maintenance sometime mid-November for about 6 hours just to watch you all helplessly sit at your computers with nothing to do!
-In this version update, we are fixing AV so that it no longer has access to the entire 2-hour ability wheel, but it has permanent Manafont/Chainspell on and the ability to cast Meteor 5. Bahamut v2 BCNM will be revamped to now force players to fight all wyrms at once rather than spawning them at intervals. We gave Taj an item where he can summon a GM to fight alongside him. KTHXBAI.

maybe relic armor for your npc?
I was actually thinking "Earth" (as in underground) when thinking of what the endgame zone would be called for ToAU when the expansion was released. Guess we are right, what do we win? =DOriginally Posted by Max™
Lol I should quote a post I made on an old linkshell board when I predicted it'd be sky >> sea >> something down below ground level. 5 years ago pre-CoP.

On thing that I think people are missing about Hazhalm Testing Grounds being the underworld. It may be a funky, story-line related name that they gave the zone for a place holder and they will rename it like Lower Promyvion and Ou'Hpat Obelisk when it goes live.
Not saying that they will, just that it is well within the realm of possibilities.
It is already mentioned by name in the storyline.Originally Posted by Septimus

Ahh, true, good point. It just seemed memorable in the new CS's as opposed to the off-hand mention of the Obelisk in the later CoP CS's.Originally Posted by Rocl
That being said, I believe that the end of CoP was hastened and there were actually more missions that were planned for the areas that later became Limbus... just a feeling I got from the end fo CoP like it was just chopped off or something.
You wanted more CoP?
Yes, I was one of the rare ones, I loved the storyline, and the fights were good challenges. I enjoyed it all. I am definitely in the minority.Originally Posted by isladar

i completely agree with ringthree, i can understand why a lot of people hated that expansion, but that series of missions/fights is still my favorite part of this game since launch (have ranks 10/10/5, zilart & cop finished, toau nearly caught up to the current mission). sure the promies were a rough start but i think the majority of the enjoyment or suffering you gained from those missions depended completely on the crew you had to do them with. pickup parties all the way to sea would be shit.
I enjoyed COP's story, but cmon, 2937498237 level capped BCNMs and a large number of the cool zones added being permanently level capped as well?
If SE wanted to they could easily change the all souls return to the mother crystal by throwing in something about the astral candesence. There's supposed to be multiple candesences after all and they're somewhat mysterious already.
i hear ya, i meant the storyline/missions. i didn't mind the missions/fights being capped & scaling up to 75 as the story progressed, but i do agree a lot of everything else that came along with the expansion was fundamentally fucked up. uncapped versions of every capped zone could've kicked ass. i also loved ff8 & ul.range is one of my favorite zones in ffxi, go figure.Originally Posted by Eander
