    Indeed it is.
Either that or you get lucky on your first try and go 1/1 on it using Berserk as it's first move with a Rng/Nin, Sam/Rng, Drk/War, Pld, Whm and Rdm. I think the Sam/Rng did 5k worth of the damage if not more. His e-penis musta been huge that day

I can easily see an endgame, done with existing maps.

*spoiler notes in hypothetical endgame, don't read without having done ToAU missions to date*

In their drive to activate Alexander, Al Zahbi engineers a control and power scheme using the artificial AC's + the schematics locked in Aphamau's automaton and attempts to bring the iron giant online.

(Gee, the death star plans are in the cute little robot- Star Wars gets another cute nod. Go SE. )

They succeed- too well. Alexander locks out all non-recognized persons and proceeds on a countdown to go fully active- and amok, the additional power burning out any restraints the original construct had. If the system isn't fully shut down, Alexander will reform and reduce first the Empire to a glassy pit, then everything else in order to "defend" the world from the Dark Rider. Of course, with the extra power, Alexander's subsystems- the chariots and gears- are in overdrive as well.

And by recognized, we mean "you've got the key from Nyzul Level 100". Good luck, heroes. If you fail, there will be nobody left to remember you by. Get in there and hit all the failsafes to bring Alexander offline once again. Since it's gone mad, the key will get you in, but you'll have to fight your way into the AC's and disable them, and quite possibly the core if tinkering with the power supplies causes Alexander to initiate a self-destruct.

    *spoilerness over*

How's that for an endgame? Since Alexander = Remnants + Nyzul Isle, we already have every map for endgame in the .dats. Fully instanceable, even. A sort of FFIV Tower of Bab-il sequence.

Having the floor 100 key as a prerequisite to the endgame area would be pretty rough heh (ie 6 separate trips to the top to get a party of 6 w/ the key item).

unzip it to your folder called Final Fantasy XI, it's ffxitool2, use + & - on the keypad to scroll through zones, arrows to move, page up/down for guess what. Home key brings you to 0,0,0. Hold ctrl to move faster.

    SPOILERIFIC follow-up

actually im pretty sure the death star plans are in the Gordeus... it was mentioned in the last CS of the most recent missions..

also, to be very honest, i don't see forsee the reunification of alexander at all a possibility even with the manufacted nethicite simply for the fact that Alzadaal is a zone which is supposed to be undersea that is already in place and reunifying the ruins would mean unsubmerging it from the sea and it just wont happen because the actual physical zone is already the way it is... (this is a technical reason why it wont happen)

my speculation is that the fake ACs will succeed in fully reviving the consciousness of Alexander but instead of reunifying Alexander, he has his own plans because hes been watching silently all this while and knows what is going on. Instead, you'll end up gaining access to a zone where Alexander's conscious exists.. his brain so to speak..
and then he will explain to you the events of the past and why the battle happened and how you can stop Odin.. and that after u complete ToA you get to summon an greatly sized down aspect of Alexander..

something to that extent probably.. lol

Dynamis counts as a different zone. Sky box is different, there's no doors/npcs, etc.
When changes are made to the outward appearance of a city (e.g. if they decided to add a stone column decoration out of nowhere on a lawn in San d'Oria), does Dynamis get changed?

I'm calling it out now: In the (near) future, SMNs will have to choose between either Alexander or Odin as an avatar, but not both, in order to further adhere to SE's idea of customization.

That actually sounds like a damn good requirement, heh. I'd just need one more rank, and 100 floors of madness. XD

I think the chocobo racing buildings aren't actually parts of the landscape, but NPC graphics, like holiday decorations. (At least I think that they appear in the model viewer as such.)

Well by just getting to floor 100 you can get 4 full promotions. Id say thats a good start, plus all the token farming and floor repeats you should be close to max rank anyway.

Correct, the choco racing gates have their own models, and are just placed there.

You should edit your math too. You don't get a point per floor.

This is correct, I said this a while back in a thread about Imperial Whitegate or something.

Edit: However, Dynamis - Bastok and Bastok Mines are two different zone files, and changes in one wouldn't be reflected in the other unless it was intentional, and they did it to both files.

That dungeon owned. Having to fight 4 really badass HNMs back to back would be sweet capoff of something like that. How about a fight with all the Salvage chariots at once? :D
