To drop a kindred seal the mob has to be at least level 51.

With regaurd to demonic tilpha palceholders, only about half of them are high enough level to give xp to a 75 (and therefore be able to drop a seal). You're probably better off killing something else at 75 to get seals.

The way i've done it (and this won't work for the OP) is to switch to bst and goto Attowha Chasim, charm a DC antlion and use it to maul the 'barely' EP scorps. One antlion easily takes out all the scorps then I release it, run back to it's spawn point and start killing scorps again just as they respawn. At night I kill corses & citipati if he shows up.

does TH affect KS/BS drop rate?

I don't think anyone has definitive data, but there's no reason to believe TH doesn't affect seal drop rate.

Just from personal experience, I believe it does.

I'm not sure if this effects rather TH does or doesnt help but seals drop a different way when in the loot pool. They wait for the 5 minute item timer rather than auto drop if the loot pool fills up (they'll stay as the top item)

Hmmm, as a RDM I'd kill tons of key dropping Yags, and would come out with 10+ ks. Their defense is really low plus your fellow NPC speeds up the whole damn thing (doing crossreapers for 800+ of dmg o_0 If you get bored, you can fight 4 of em at the same time to wake you up :D

This is right. I used to level my NPC there while everyone else went off to Kuftal to fight over crabs. I loved having nearly the whole zone to myself.

Leveling BST has stopped me from meriting, taken up far far too much of my time, and has led to many untimely and occasionally ridiculous deaths.

However, I currently have around 400KS and 500BS (after using around 400) in my MH just from that job, and you can bet that when I hit 75 on it I'll be all over KSNM.

Kinda doing it the hard way, but it works.

For a mage, kill the elementals that the tonberries summon in the Den of Rancor. One shot kills easily, quick resummon, unless it got nerfed recently.

The scorpions there are also barely-EP, and drop the occasional Viking Axe. Nice bonus. Windy characters with the charm to get in the 3 Mage Door always have a nice place to go seal farming. And in my case, it's not like I don't have Dispel handy.

You can get access to the Canal from within Windy by doing the Purple ribbon line of quests. Look up Toraimarai Turmoil. Kupipi in heaven's tower will give you access for a rolaberry I think if you've finished the previous 4-5 quests. And anyone from any nation can get access, just need fame and the previous quests done.

For those of us that don't have TH2+, if /thf would cause moderate downtime I'd rather go /nin and kill endlessly for any sort of drop (assuming infinite repops).

Forgot about the Canal. The quest to get access is relatively easy to do as well, just time consuming. I hated that place so much as BST, I leveled there when SE "accidently" nerfed charm range for a couple days. Died so many times it was rediculous.

But you could easily make a path out of EP crabs, pugs, skeletons and the scorps that drop the axe. In addition I *think* there were mobs that dropped starmite or something to that effect that was redeemable for 2k gil in line with the ribbon quest. Can't remember if it is repeatable or how the drop rate was.

if i remember from some of my friends trying to do the quest just for completionist reasons, the drop rate on the shells is abhorrent. in addition, you need 3 irritatingly non-stackable shells to see any reward. a pain in the ass, really. if your path happens to cross them, i'd say go for it, but don't plan a pattern around them.

You can do two things for access:

Complete Mission 3-2 for Windurst (it's normally a skippable mission). This opens up a quest where you deliver a Rolanberry to a Taru in Heaven's Tower. The key item you get allows you to open the Three Mage Door in the Inner Horutoto Ruins without needing the three different types of mage, and allows you to let other people in.

Or each member of your party could get the Rhinostery Certificate offered through completing the series of quests based there. This opens the Priming Gate in Windurst Walls (the CS-based one that only lets yourself in if you carry the Certificate key item).

i didn't see this mentioned when i skimmed through the posts, but goblin pets are a good source. they only have 2 drops, BS & KS.

xtals & keys too if they're of the right level. i got my onzozo map chest key from a gob pet. all mobs have a base item template of

since the mob specific drops are nill for pets, you won't get chaff.

They usually have a repop of a 1-1.5 minutes. But ever since that Alla guide got posted, Goblin pets have been pretty camped lately.
