Any Type-Moon fans? Melty Blood English Patch Released...

For any Type-Moon fans, Mirrormoon (http://mirrormoon.org) has released an English patch for Melty Blood, which is the sequel to Tsukihime (English patch for that was released a few months ago). I just started playing it, hopefully it's just as good story wise as its predecessor, which I heard it's supposed to be

Honestly...I'm not sure. There appears to be a couple different releases and sequels. In this one, it is similar to Tsukihime in that it is a text based novel, but your story path is determined by the actual fights instead of getting to choose random choices. The battles are actually fought arcade style which has been pretty fun thus far with the outcome of the fight determining what happens next in the story. In addition to the normal story mode, there's the typical arcade options such as a "VS mode" (PC vs PC or PC vs Computer), a "practice mode" and "Arcade Mode" (fight computer opponents one after the other).

Yes, Act Cadenza is the same basic game. I think that's the name of the version they made for arcade cabinets. Everything before that was basically an extended test for the arcade version.

First was Melty Blood, with the story mode revolving around Walachia. Then they upgraded it to Melty Blood ReAct, added some new characters and made another story mode about White Ren (or Len, both spellings have been used by the creators, although one might have been a mistake). Then after a few more major patches they fixed up most of the unbalanced relaunch/infinite combo/100% damage combo issues, called it Act Cadenza and ported it to the arcade version.

Personally I like it as a fighting game, but it gets pretty boring playing against the AI. Even on maximum difficulty the only difficult fight in arcade mode is against White Ren at the end, and sometimes the one right before her.

edit: the "arcade mode" the op mentions is actually the second storyline, the one with White Ren, and the "story mode" is the original story with Walachia. White Ren's story is linear and based only on which character you use, Warachia's has 6 endings or something, so it brances at a few places. Some of the endings are just silly.

Ah, that explains it. The last time I checked was last month, and it's JP onry so of course I wouldn't hear about it otherwise.

Now if only i had a modded/imported system.

    That's the PS2 game right?

Randomly, I'm looking forward to those Fate/Stay novels about the last war being translated, or at least summarized....Volume 1 is out already I know but I think volume 2 is supposed to be out soonish too...

even though Archer will always be my favorite servant/character in fate universe, 4th war's servants are just so much more badass and hardcore than 5th XD

Haha yeah, Archer and Gil are probably my favorite servants...I'm really interested in the story of the 4th war and the roles of Ilya's family as well as the Tohsaka's(sp)...
