This isn't going to affect my traffic coming up into SF from the south tomorrow is it?... Dunno if people are taking the long way around now or what.

seems like on the news the worst traffic is going to be going from SF towards oakland because if you want to get from the bay bridge to 580 you will need to go up 880 towards Berkley then u-turn back around.
This is going to utterly destroy traffic patterns for months. I'm just glad that I don't have to drive that every day. Working five minutes from home is a blessing. I feel really bad for anyone having to go over the Bay Bridge now. Poor bastards.
This should stop all the black people, and men like haxil from going into sf. How u going haxil baby

I BART between Fremont and Embarcadero every day. My morning commute (6:51 Fremont train) today was pretty normal, except a lot more people got on at Fruitvale than usual. I expect the afternoon trains to be much more crowded though.
as bad as the commutes are going to be, thankfully this is nowhere near as bad as when the bay bridge collapsed in the 89 quake.
NOOOO! My great Granddaddy worked on that bridge![]()
If I were the driver's insurance company and the city came to me wanting a ton of money to fix the bridge, DAMN.

lolpun
I can't believe the driver walked to a gas station and took a cab to the hospital.
Cheaper than an ambulance bill :DOriginally Posted by zoobernut
Very true. I remember when I was young one of my very good friends broke his arm and the ambulance came and when we found out how much it would cost my mom ended up driving him to the hospital.
We were like a 5 minute drive from the hospital too.
