For the record, gears (and anything else that aggros magic or even low HP) aggro at a distance of 20.0, making it possible to pull with magic depending on the spell if you have enough room. Not sure if that's news to people or not but it certainly can help ito avoid undead and magic aggro (like with, say, 4th floor Bhaflau Remnants). Still best to pull with something else.

I think it varies based on the level of the gear or something. Zhayolm 6th floor gears magic aggro range is at least as long as casting range, it's actually how I pull them sometimes (casting tier 1 nuke and running off as soon as cast starts) because it's a no-delay pull with a lot of lead room.

It does as long as you actually exit. If you go up to floor 8 and time out then you have to start on floor 1 again.
sweet, thanks. we've had like 10m left several times and never knew if we could farm another floor or two for some more tokens.

No idea about that since I'm just a BRD, though it wouldn't suprise me if a lot of BLM spells don't go past 20.0 distance, there are several BRD songs that don't (Lullaby, Requiem seem to be closer to 18.0), while the only one I really use for pulling (Elegy) is more like 22.5 or so. Could also be larger aggro distance, plenty of NMs out there with exceptional aggro range. Regular mob aggro range for magic/low HP is 20.0 for sure.

My group splits into 2 groups while farming floors to accomplish tasks such as kill all and kill specific enemies.

    We generally bring:

    WAR > THF for bosses.
    WAR / MNK
    WAR / MNK / NIN
    PLD
    BRD
    RDM

    Group A consists of:

    PLD
    WHM
    WAR

    Group B consists of:

    WAR > THF
    WAR
    BRD

Generally, I'm the BRD, so Gjallarhorn doesn't hurt, but by no means necessary. Today I went ninja as a change of pace.

In the end, DDx4 + 2 support broken into groups of 2 DD + support should accomplish everything.

Always. always, always bring a stack of silent oils, prism powders or tabi, and a way to pull shit via ranged.

If you are on an eliminate enemy leader level, pull it to the Rune, so you can get up in case of wipe and also exit quicker. With that said, on kill all or kill specific, always send someone early to the rune so you can exit as quickly as possible.

As for lamps, once you've completed your first specific order floor, the rest will not be nearly as hard. It's just getting that first one done that can hurt ya.

As Linsivi mentioned, another strength of bringing a job like BRD is that they can toss up songs and head back to the rune while everyone else finishes the objective. It shaves precious time off each floor without sacrificing kill speed.

About splitting the group, you can really split in any kind of formation. Most mobs aside from NMs and puddings die extremely fast to melee. It's pretty common for my group to have WARs soloing their own mob while BRD and THF pull mobs back to the WARs. Obviously, this is mostly used for eliminate all enemies, but we also use it for some eliminate specified enemies and most floors involving gears. Each WAR in my group gets either our RDM or WHM to stay hasted and occasionally cured, but they really cover themselves pretty well.

Agreed. Hurricane Wing and it's melee hits seem to be just as powerful as normal Faf, but it's def/eva/magic def are lower I think. Wiki says 18,000hp which sounds about right.

Killed easily with NIN/PLD/BLM/RDM/COR/BRD, which isn't exactly an optimal setup. Any semi-balanced group of non-retards works in Nyzul, it isn't hard once you know what to do for the objectives.

Better have at least 1 RDM in case of "Kill enemy leader" floor with leader as some Pudding. Melee damage on these is really low but nukes takes it out quickly.
