Spiderman 3 sucks (Spoilers depending on how emo I get)

so　what other movies came out this week, since spiderman three is apparently not worth seeing?

In the last couple of weeks I've gone to see the Namesake and the Invisible, both of which I liked a good bit.

Nothing notable this week. Next week 28 Weeks Later comes out, which also looks disappointing, the week after that Shrek 3 comes out (I don't personally want to see this, others might), and the week after that Pirates 3 comes out.

I thought they nailed the 'dark' side of Spider-man perfectly at certain points like when he was talking to Aunt May about being happy at Sandman's death, but when Peter was trying to be cool, and the whole jazz bar thing... the less said, the better.

Also, when they made Ben Parker's death an accident, and done by someone other than the guy Spider-Man let get away, it totally ruins the whole "With great power, comes great responsibility"...which is one of the major parts of Spider-Man's character (both movie wise and comic wise).

I also found it annoying that they used the "lone tear" effect so much, with just about every character.

At least Venom looked cool, however I CANT BELIEVE THEY KILLED HIM ARGGGGGGGGGGGHASFDAJFSDFKSADKFJASDKFAKNFS.

Seriously, the coolest Spider-Man villain (with the exception of possibily Carnage, however I doubt he will ever appear a movie if they want to do him justice AND keep the movie rated PG-13) and they offed him so easily and so quickly

I didn't expect it to be 100% accurate to the comics, but still a lot of the movie felt forced or silly.

Still worth seeing just to see the final fight sequence, I think.

That weiner Sam Raimi refuses to direct a Carnage Spiderman movie. He didn't want to do Venom in this one.

Venom saying "I" is a huge fuckup departure from canon, and as Septimus stated, it's an intrinsic part of Venom. Fuck, he didn't even name himself Venom, he just went by Brock. Carnage says "I". Venom says "we". Goddammit. Also, there is only half the development of the Venom character. You only see the Eddie Brock side of things. That symbiote is not only alive, it is sentient, and it has feelings. Spiderman's rejection of the symbiote is a major part of the hatred for Spiderman. The entity hates Spiderman, Brock hates Peter Parker. Those two things together are what makes Venom. And Gwen Stacy wtf? Brock's girl? No. No, no, no. Gwen Stacy was Peter Parker's first girlfriend, well before Mary Jane Watson. She is also very very dead, at the hands of Doctor Octopus. This would be fuckup #2.

This movie suffers from a severe case of Shumacher-Batman syndrome. Too many villains. The entire movie should have been devoted to either Venom, Harry Osborn or the Sandman. Not all three.

Other than that, I enjoyed it.

Hot fuzz came out like last week but it is a freaking awesome movie :D then again my standards for funny are a lot different than other people... I don't wanna say more sophisticated but I'll just say it's more "british". If you want an alternative to see, I didnt think 3 was terribly bad though <_<

Yeah I know more goes into a script then just taking the comic word for word. But when your writing a script, based almost 100% off someone else's work and you leave out details that need to be there...your fucking horrible.

Also, I like how the clanging of pipes drove the symbiote off of Brock, yet TRAINS didn't phase it while it was attached to Peter.

Damn this movie, it's made me into that which I despise - someone who nitpicks. I guess I'll forever be bitter at what they did to Venom.

So, on topic: I liked it. I thought overconfident Pete was hilarious. I was disappointed neither Stacy snuffed it. I wish Venom had a different voice when his face was covered. Maybe I'm dense but I didn't see the teamups coming based on the previews. Major beef - Sandman just blowing away. Btw if you haven't seen it don't read this paragraph.

Also, I <3 myself some Spiderman and didn't even notice the I/We thing until I read this thread. To whoever, the symbiote is weak to fire, so the bomb not killing Harry but still killing Venom works in that regard.

My god this movie sucked. The only scene worth watching, was when Parker gets rid of the symbiote and it forms with Brock to become Venom.

In watching Marvel movies, I usually tend not to care about accuracy, and just view the movies as another medium for a flexible storyline. But still, this movie was an all-out suckfest.

I couldn't believe the emo-parker crap they did, and that whole dance routine and the snapping of the fingers.

What bothers me most, is how the hell do you let shit like that fly? Are there no checks-and-balances, is there no fan of spiderman on the entire set that would say "Stop, this is pure shit!?" Sidenote: the Stan Lee cameo was such crap -- do it like Hitchcock or don't do it at all.

Outside of the last 30 minutes (which, the last 5 minutes were pretty crappy), this movie was one of the worst I'd ever seen. I already knew the series wasn't about the acting, but, just wow, this makes Pooty Tang look like an Oscar nominee.


PS: I did, however, like Topher Grace. I thought he did well as McGuire's foil/Venom.
