Haste Belt is magical haste, so if you have SV Marches and a Haste, it's going to be completely useless.

I don't really care about my drk to much outside of zerging... I have a ridill to zerg with, however ive been looking at octave club, would it be worth it to camp and get one and Delevel my DRK to 72?
Octave DRK (especially if you go out of the way and get the 72- haste gear) will beat a Ridill/M-kris drk, as far as I understand it.
If you really don't care about anything outside of zerging, I'd say yes.
My octave setup:
Once I have Patroclus's/Aurm helm and Speed/Velocious belt, I'll have Haste+20%...I use Pluto's for Drain II. I have Sable cuisses in case I get a helm, so there's an option for more accuracy with Sable/Optical Hat. Usually I'll just use RNG if Feint/Bards aren't available.

Necro Bump. So anyone have any good info on set-up's for Bahamut's scythe? and sam sub 100% superior for 2-handed or nay? Trying to compile some data to figure out a good set-up with minimal access to gil atm until i'm able to have more funds for a mkris or i get blessed with a new Ridill.
/sam depends how many desperate blows merits you have, and how much other haste you have. Remember that JA haste caps, so hasso + desperate blows will not give you 35%. It caps out at 25% JA haste, so if you have 5/5 desperate blows you're not getting haste from hasso anymore and might as well sub something else.
/drg is awsome with KC can do 1k jumps,6% haste and +10 acc too
Baha Zagh: /mnk if you have 25% JA haste without Hasso or /sam otherwise (may be exceptions but this is the general rule)
Only need 12% haste in gear and a SE enhancement piece.
B Zagh/Sword Strap/---/Happy Egg
Turban/Ritter/Cassie/Intruder or Physical
Corazza/Homam/BQR/Bloodbead
Gigant/Swift/Sable/Marine M Boots
Are what I currently zerg in with B Zagh; that fulfils 80% haste cap with SV 2x march and haste (I swap on different gear if I lack capped magic haste) and has 1% Triple Attack to boot (exciting I know)!
Improvements would be Fenrir's Stone, Dusk Gloves +1 and maybe a couple of other changes depending on race/something I've overlooked.
I'm almost curious... at what amount of haste does /drg outdoes /mnk (for 1 handers).
the HP boost adds a significant amount of dmg.
accuracy? srsly? don't you get those things will full time feint? it's quite a harder to zerg something w/o feint.
On that line if acc is non issue usually Gloom Breastplate will be better than anything else, intruder earring is good if you can trigger the latent.
Chivalrous is another waste of the slot but honestly there isn't much better things for it(Rho Necklace? and hardly enough to justify the inv -1)
Rings BBQ and Blitz should triumph everything else, and for food HP is the best option.
Usually a Haste>>HP mentality works wonders for zerging gear.
No feint you say? then I think zerg is not the best approach :/
Ken.
Kraken Club
Januwiyah +1
Rosenbogen +1
Walahra Turban
Rho Necklace
Cassie Earring
Wyvern Earring
Gloom Breastplate
Dusk Gloves +1
Bomb Queen Ring
Bloodbead Ring
Gigant Mantle
Velocious Belt
Homam Cosciales
Homam Gambieras
This will give you the highest combination of HP, Haste, and Accuracy for Dark Knight/Dragoon using a Kraken Club. If you don't have /Dragoon and a Wyvern Earring, use Bloodbead Earring. Alternatively, for 2-handed weapons:
Bahamut Zaghnal
Sword Strap
Rosenbogen +1
Walahra Turban
Rho Necklace
Cassie Earring
Bloodbead Earring
Gloom Breastplate
Dusk Gloves +1
Bomb Queen Ring
Bloodbead Ring
Gigant Mantle
Velocious Belt
Homam Cosciales
Homam Gambieras
This is the optimal setup for Dark Knight/Samurai. The ability Hasso will provide 10% more delay reduction with a 2-handed weapon, which is subject to a cap of 25% from job abilities, making any more than level 3 Desperate Blows a waste in this situation.
Don't use Haste Belt, it doesn't stack with magic Haste. The only item that beats Haste spell is Spy's Drink. Any group that seriously considers using this method will have a Thief land Feint and Bards giving you at least 1 Madrigal. With proper Bard rotations, you should have at least 4 songs, sometimes I've used 6.
im sure this question has been asked a bunch on times, but which do you think is a better combo. gloom breastplate + turban or AF head + homam body?
@Ultimagi, I'm pretty sure Happy Egg is going to surpass the +12 HP of Rosenbogen +1... unless +HP from gear isn't factored into the 1% boost, even though I'm pretty sure it is.
It'd only matter if it pushed you up past another 10HP cutoff, of course, but that goes without saying... so does the fact that it's free and Rosenbogen +1 isn't.
Double and Triple Attack will NOT procure on a multi-hit weapon if it already attacks more than once. These attributes are negligible in comparison to more HP, Haste, and Accuracy. If you want an alternate to Gloom Breastplate, there is Blood Scale Mail, which can be combined with Sable Cuisses.
For an Octave build for footwear, is HP+25 (Dusk NQ) > DEX+3 Accuracy+5 Attack+1 (Aurum)? I would presume it's better but not by as large a margin since the haste values on the two are the same.
Octave's level limitation restricts too much equipment to be worthwhile, you're better off using a Mercurial Kris.
That's not what I've been led to believe :

I don't care to level DRK to 75 anyway, I just want to have a BOOMHEADSHOT lol thing to do. My drk is 64 atm and it's a toy, I just want to maximize it's usefulness as said toy. As a career mage, getting homam/heca/etc. is just too much work when I'd rather be getting magey things. Or new clubs to clonk with.
