Gilgamesh part 2 was freakin Epic hard until I found out Enkidu can be slept+Oiled.

Took me alot of tries before i figured that out.
Most fun boss battle ive played in a long time (read: years)

QFT here. Gilgamesh was made of so much win in XII.

Gilgamesh boils down to 3 things that make it fun.

The difficulty (depending on your level, I'd say optimally hard fight was level 53)
The music (fucking epic)
and the dialogue (IE ALL YOUR WEAPONS ARE MINE)

I fought Gilgamesh vII at around 50ish iirc, but I kinda cheated and brought along Reddas for the fight, not that he really did anything besides distract Enkidu. It was a pretty rough fight with lots of death, but was the most fun and exciting fight in the game to me.

I fought Gilg v2 at 37. It was fucking epic. No reverse tanking, bodies falling all over the place. No fucking idea how I managed the later forms. Hell, I didn't even have the highest level Fire spell to kill Enkidu with because I couldn't afford it, such an awesome fight.

What's the fun when boss battles are easy? They make them "epic" so you actually have to think of what you're doing rather than putting everyone on gambits and walking off to get a drink. These aren't TAU missions, ya know?

Lloyd v Kratos in Tales of Symphonia. My first game through, I couldn't beat him for a solid 4 or 5 attempts. I was kinda bad, admittedly. However, after playing through Mania mode again recently, I again found him difficult -- And in terms of epic story battles, it rocks pretty damn hard.

My god. That thing was fucking disgusting. Constantly bashing you into the ground with PSI Omega, and to top it off, regen as well as status ailments on you. If you don't stack for certain stuff, you're fracked. Also for earthbound fights. That and the stonehenge base against Starman DX without multi bottle rockets, especially since the boss spams PSI Starstorm ><

That fight was either really easy or really hard. It was easy if you realized Auto-Fight would make you heal as fast as he could hit ya, using the rolldown damage to your advantage. It was hard if you didn't Auto-Fight and had to manually heal yourself while watching yourself die.

So of course I did it twice... and only beat him once <_<

Fucking Zio in Phantasy Star IV; I absolutely sodomized him the first time I played through, but it was because I had been power leveling my people on Land Worms before him (those things were fucking ridiculous <3). The second time I played through it (sans Land Worms), I must have tried like 8 fucking times before I finally downed him.

Was the other way for me, he destroyed me the first time I played it. Second time I spent hours in that cave where you get Rune for a bit leveling up. He just waves his hand and everything blows up <3

It sucks that Phantasy Star series stopped making real RPGS, II and IV are some of my favorite games ever.

Ozma wasn't *that* bad, only had 70 000hp or something, and you could kill it pretty quickly, even without any decent strategy. I thought FF8 omega was much worse than any other mega, especially if you dont want to destroy your card collection.

Ozma is just luck, he can be retarded if he wants too, or he can spam gayspells back to back and wipe you out in 2 rounds.

Yes, but the fight is still short and you will get lucky within a few try. Try fighting omega in FF8 without hero drink, and unless you "The end" it with Selphie, you will get raped almost every time.

For my ozma fight, Phoenix came twice to raise everyone, which mean I had 25% chance it happen. Not that hard to get 8 attack with steiner during that time
