I am split with how I feel about this. On one hand it would be impossible by our current laws of Physics for me to care less about Paris Hilton. On the other hand, it is nice to see a spoiled, egomaniacal, blight on our society get told "no" for the first time in her 26-27 years on this planet. It is about time that someone let her know that her actions have consequences and she has to be grown-up for the first time in her life.

Bit it also annoys me that this is yet another convenient excuse for the media to not discuss the War in Iraq, ever rising gas prices, and the gross overpayment of CEOs even when their companies are failing. But I guess Americans shouldn't be exposed to bad news, it makes them think and thinking hurts.

I loved one guy on CNN said when Anna Nicole Smith died:

"Hey, is Anna Nicole Smith still dead?"

Kind of reminds me of this case.

Something a lot of people are misunderstanding about this isn't that we care *about* Paris Hilton, it's that we care how some people are exempt from the law, which is utter bullshit. The judicial system needs so much fixing up... this is sorta a step in the right direction.

Apparently her dehydration has been caused because she's scared to pee in prison. Paris has been abstaining from any food or drink out of the fear that prison guards will snap photos of her using the toilet and then sell them. I though I recalled reading something over on the Superficial that all prison workers were required to be searched for any kind of photographic or video capture device when they go on shift in her wing.

Eh I feel kinda bad for her.

Like most famous people going to a normal prison shouldn't ever happen. All the people "lol"ing at this either don't know how famous people would/will get treated in prison or they don't have any form of sympathy in their body. There's a reason famous people go to special prisons and it's not because they pay their way into it a majority of the time. The inmates would have a field day with them, and due to their high popularity they wouldn't last half as long as a normal person would, and it's sad to consider. It's not their fault the media pays attention to them, it's the populus' fault for paying so much attention to them and thusly allowing the media to exploit that attention.

In reality, her getting house arrest isn't the best thing and certainly doesn't look good to those wanting to see her be punished. But honestly it's hard to be fair about putting them into "jail" when jail for them would be something totally different than it is for most.

The comments about guards trying to get her while she's peeing is pretty accurate and she's smart and dumb for not going to the bathroom on those grounds.
