Not to mention how many resources they would need to devote to both MMO's if Starcraft is one. If this is a MMO they better fucking update the graphics beyond what WoW looks like. That look was fine years ago but doesnt cut it.

It is competition, I guess, but it's not such a bad thing for Blizzard I reckon. They won't be losing anything as far as customer base goes if people jump ship from WoW to SC, those which don't just play both.. It might make it even easier to upkeep WoW. But what they will do likely is draw even more people out of other games (who's quitting FFXI for SC Online or whatever, now?), and as long as they're getting an influx to either one of their games, it's good news for them I imagine. Maybe that's why they're aiming at Korea, if they notice that it's a large market that hasn't gotten into WoW (no clue if this is true or not).

And then there'll be those people like probably myself who'll be paying for WoW, FFXI and this Starcraft game all at the same time and not making an effective use of that monthly payment at all, but still feeding Blizz and SE my money. @.@

Because more than likley the gameplay will be different enough for people to play both games, not to mention how much more popular is overseas, and because MMO's = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

A RTS doesnt have montly fee, and they would probably lose WoW peope to it.

Either way, a StarCraft mmorpg cant be bad, it would just give them a bigger share of the mmorpg market. Players who liked WoW but want something new might come back, some player would simply move from WoW to SC and get addicted for a few more years (they still make money selling the CD), and they might lure even more fan who havent played WoW for many reasons

I agree. It's a smart move because they will not lose customers really, only gain them because there is so much potential for win in Korea where MMOs and RTS are king and combining the two in the countries pastime = win.

P.S. I'm not used to your new Avatar yet Kaylia I get confused everytime I see you post XD

Well yeah that's a given haha. It's starcraft. I would try it out no matter what, even if it was a bunch of stick figures that spoke gibberish.

I can't find my own post either, which is problematic when I'm looking for reply. Had my other avatar/sig for too long, and I'm barely playing FFXI anymore, that's why I decided to change. Dunno if it was a good idea or not lol.

On topic, I wonder how much actual content from SC will be carried over. WC3 to WoW transition worked well, because it already had a ton of heroes, items, skills, critters and a big map defined already. I'm sure you could make a Starcraft mmorpg, but are we really going to able to recognize the world? The transition between both game would be kinda huge.

Anyway, it will be interesting to see Duran's hybrid again, and maybe the Xel'Naga, i just hope the world will feel like Starcraft, and not something that borrowed a few thing from it.
PC zerg? How does it work beside infested human/toss? I supose it's safe to assume there wont be any, and they will be monster only.
Very few unit could be translated to "job". Most are vehicule.
The environment? There was 4planet and 2 moon, but we never saw a real city, and most of the world is currently destroyed

I would assume zerg wouldnt be a playable race. I dont know how that would work out really if they were. Would be interesting though. I would hope they would add another race or 2 to the game as well.

As for the world I think they covered a good deal in the 2 games to be able to set up an MMO around it. Also it gives them a lot more in terms of what they can do because there isnt that much lore about the world(s).

I cant imagine a zergling with customizable armor. That's almost sacrileagous.

It's true there isnt much lore about the world, but if the little we know is diluted amongst new stuff, it might not feel right.

I think that's what will make this somewhat interesting. The Warcraft series already had a very well established world before WoW was released. With a Starcraft MMO, Blizzard has the opportunity to expand upon what could potentially be a very large universe without feeling constrained.

I still think they should do SC2 for now, then follow up with a mmorpg 1 year after. They could easily develop their world in next game to introduce you to the mmorpg.

If they do the mmorpg, we wont see any SC game for the next 5 years

Ya I'm also curious as to how the Zerg will work as opposed to the Terran/Protoss. Zerg are like made to die and Terran/Protoss are made to like fight and die and fight again (Protoss Units like Dragoon) or just use a vehicle to begin with (Vulture/Seige Tank, etc). So how would the races be equal?

Maybe the Zerg would be the enemies of the world. Because really there isn't anything in the SC Lore that you could grind on, unless it was a total PvP with exp gain or something. Ya the more I think about it the more it makes sense...

Start as a Marine or Zealot and you advance your character by either going technical, support or fighting trees. Each path allowing you access to different "suits" and "vehicles". That's the only system I can see working since Zerg can't really be a playable race and there really being no "enemy" all players could grind on.

I could see the zerg being playable if they had a pet class. Like an Overlord or something.

Well, every race have an humanoid type of unit that could be used and "balanced". Normal human, vs infested human vs protoss is pretty much the same. Just because the base unit of one race is stronger doesnt mean't the "lv1" character of that race is stronger. Vehicule are probably going to be something secondary like mount.

Terran: Medic (healer/buffer), ghost (sneak/thief/snipe), firebat (close combat fighter), and marine (gunner)
Protoss: Zealot (melee fighter), Dark templar (sneak/melee), Templar (mage type)
Zerg: Infested unit could probably have the equivalent of the one above. Could easily have a "beastmaster" type of unit too

Faction at the end of Starcraft:
    - Earth alliance: (wiped completly, and Earth is left without defense)
    - Jim Raynor ad the federation/empire : a few left, Kerrigan let them run away
    - Protoss alliance: not many left, there is Zeratul and Aramis(or something like that)
-Duran's hybrid: protoss/zerg mix you see in the secret mission (which is what Xel Naga tried to make long time ago)
    - Kerrigan's zerg: Owned everyone and let them leave
