I took the liberty of taking some data from this thread on the type of random mob killed and whether it gave a message or chest.

Pink Bird
9 People reported getting a chest drop and nobody reported getting a message.

Brown Bird
4 people reported getting a "calming" message and none reported getting chest

Tiger
Majority of the people that killed did not get a thing. 2 people noticed that when they DID NOT kill the tiger they got a "restless" message.


I would like to keep this going, so if everyone could remember to post the color of the bird as well as if they got chest/message I would appreciate it and try to keep track.

Maybe the sheep (Heithrun) drops a chest if not killed? Heithrun is also food for the Einherjar in mythology like the tiger/pig (but she's not really killed like the...piger), so it would make sense that 2 mobs=kill, 2 mobs=despawn.

Also, is it just me or are stuff in multiples of 6? On this page there are: Infected Wamoura x6; Dark Elemental x12 + Craven Einherjar x12; Hazhalm Bats x12 + Rotten Huskarl x12; Nickur x6.

Also, maybe in addition to have random mobs/boss/unique and random amount of mobs, maybe the difficulty of the boss is random? Perhaps, since it seems that there are 4-5 different amounts of mobs (6, 6+6, 6+12, 12, 12+12), maybe there's 4-5 different difficulties?

Tested the kiting idea~ hate links to ALLY not to ZONE.

We had solo kiter outside any allies kiting a wave a skeles. Ally voked 1, the rest all stayed with the kiter.

Interesting to note though: if your kiter dies, the mobs WILL all come for your ally if you're fighting another mob (I guess this should be expected because then your ally hate-links all the remaining ones). Don't know if they'd come for ally if the kiter dies AFTER you've just finished off a mob at the ally (i.e. not currently fighting one when kiter dies).

12 Huskar, 12 Dark elemental
Dark elemental had around 7000hp, we didnt kill any. Bone pull failled because of sleepga, but it wouldnt have been a success either way.


On last pull, I tried kiting them around them room and let alliance pull them one by one. It didnt work well since many dark elemental pathed awfully (casting spell) and got me from the side. Can probably be done with speed enhancement gear, but a 6 man party wouldnt be able to kill everything in time, so it's pointless. I'm just sad we didnt have time to try the boss with 6...probably wouldnt have been a success anyway.

Pretty obvious by now, but it is NOT scaled at all, and going with 6 is just retarded, unless you want to do it for fun like we did.

Did G wing today with 28 people

15+ craven einharjar (ghosts), 15+ dark eles, morbol emperor boss.

No casualties through the ghosts, some deaths (mostly brds and myself on blu from sleeping) on the dark eles. However, with the number of people we entered with, along with the number of and type of mobs we got, we only had 5-6 minutes left for the boss, we tried to zerg it and he responded by spamming bad breath. :/ We were only able to get it down to 70ish I think.

Between the ghosts casting sleepga, the eles casting sleepga, and the morbol using sweet breath has well, it probably would have been a good idea for us to bring more than one stack of poison pots for everyone (we gave the poisons to whms to curaga after sleeps, but since all three mob types used sleepga we didnt have enough for when the morbol came)

Also, no one ever noticed a bird/tiger etc popping while we were in.

Okay, so my ls did Einherjar run 2 tonight. We had a full group of 36. Two PLD/Nins tanking, a few nins, various melee, about 6 BLMs, some RDMs, and 3 Bards. Went in an got 12 sets of triple bats, and the Wivre boss. About 4 mobs in, a black tiger spawned. No message from the tiger, no chest either. Killed off the bats and started on the Wivre. Started on the boss with about 20 minutes left on the glass. We used SC>MB strat to take it down. It was really slow at first, cause people seem to be "DURR WUT IZ SC?" after TP burning forever, but we managed to pick up the pace and managed to kill it with about a minute left. Seemed to be weak against Ice more than anything. I personally didn't keep an eye on the damage, as I was busy tanking, but most MB that connected were about 700-900 damage, and I think I even saw one for about 1500.

What did we get from this epic win?

Today's run began with a very disastrous pull of 12 skeletons.
Around this time we noticed the Marid was our boss which we knew to have been unbeaten up until now.
Tiger popped precisely 5 minutes after we began the initial pull. We had only managed to kill one skeleton due to the bad pull.
I'm willing to bet the random mobs are on a set timer that begins as soon as you make an initial action against the room's mobs.

On the bright side, they fixed Salvage and made it more fun and accessible 6month after. Give them 6month-1years and einherjar might get better, cause it kinda suck atm >_>

Most likely ur gonna have to re-clear the 3rd wing to access the 10th room, which for farming purposes would only take 12 days. Thats pretty much on par with an Omega.
Imagine a chance at E-body every 12 days.
