Take a BLM as well and those mellees would be fine. A BLM really makes a huge difference in killing those gears fast enough so they don't warp.Originally Posted by Wizerd

Has anyone gotten an NM to pop from 2 or more ramparts in the same run?
My group is beginning to toss the idea around that only 1 rampart is predetermined to pop 35 dropping NMs when you start the run.
Tonight my group popped the 1-3 ramparts, and only the 1f rampart popped an NM (3 widows). Just wondering if anyone can contradict this.
That would make a lot of sense actually... I'll keep my eyes open for this in future runs.Originally Posted by Xerlic
We've popped about three or four of the first floor ramparts, and have never seen a gate widow.
On the one time we got the second floor Rampart to pop, we got 3 Skirmish Pephredos and one Hikazu Sune-ate.
Still haven't tried for the other ramparts, as we really don't need them yet...
Just got out of Bhaflau, did 100% of the 1st and 2nd Floor Ramparts and around 55% of the 3rd Floor one, no NMs from any of them.
meh... we have yet to SEE one of the NM's lol doing our 4th Bhaflau on friday, maybe we will see one then. We do the 1st and 2nd floor ramparts every time... when mad bomber is up that is, 2 times up and 1 not up.
Today we killed L-B C with NIN and MNK tank/dding; I was amused to see that it was close, but the Kikoku NIN won the parse over the not-yet-Spharai MNK (needs Fragment) even though the MNK got two Hundred Fists. But I'm used to that NIN winning parses even before he got relic, so not as much of a surprise as it could be.
More usefully, I noticed that the MNK's mode damage was 44 (47 with Choke on), and he was hitting both higher and lower than that. Both he and the NIN seemed to be in neutral DEF territory (with sushi and no minuet), around 1.0 cRatio with Dia 2 on, so L-B C's def isn't that high. However, it seems to have very high VIT, as that's an fSTR of about -9 (if he was using Destroyers, more if he was using Caestus). With Sushi, both had ~83% acc.
We had that happen the other day. Rampart hit 0 *right* after popping it's seventh Skimish Phredo and we lost that one. None of the other six dropped anything either =(Originally Posted by Garion
I doubt it'd do anything, but would stunning the Rampart stop its HP down for a few seconds?
wiki is reporting that Enlil's brayettes drop from Peryton. Has this been confirmed?
Aircommand reported/theorized it (I think). The yellow "!" signs (verification tags) indicate it has not been confirmed.Originally Posted by phane

Thanks to everyone for the advice. Killed LBC today in about 13 mins with the same setup as last time, with one extra WHM and the PLD not dcing. Body Boosts for the ridill WARs helps a ton as well as myself strictly casting only Blizzard IV XD
Curious thing about LBC I noticed BLM wise. I stuck to casting Blizzzard IV and for a lark, I tried my MAB/sorc ring setup. 730+ Blizzard IVs every time, even with only 310 elemental skill. I didn't get one resist the entire fight.
Both, MNK and NIN had (we got 3 Pannus on the way to LBC, 3rd went to DRK).Originally Posted by aurik
Finally killed LBC in a grand total of 6 minutes tonight. Nerfed HM makes him such a joke, I swear he likes to use HM a lot more than any other WS. 2 BLMs, MNK, and Ridill WAR as damage, 2 revitilizers and some melee drinks and he went down super fast. Soul voiced pretty much the entire time and the BLMs were able to go all out the entire battle. Fun as hell.
Pulling those gears is nerve racking @_@ but worth it. 14min left on the clock afterwards, we shoulda farmed half of the rampart.![]()
So anyway,
Is there any 'trick' I'm missing about these Ramparts and the lolMobs because we are something like 0/2000 on Spawns now, with nothing to show for it. Haven't seen 1 Single NM, yet alone 6 or 7. So we are starting to question ourselves if we are doing something wrong.
Also, last night, we entered with 6, 1 had to gtfo early and we popped 2nd Rampart, Mnks lacked Weapons (lolGayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyed), and halfway through the lolBees, we had to sleep them to let the mages recover some MP. Then something most peculiar happened ... The Rampart was steadily losing health. To my understanding the Rampart loses 1% health per Bee that dies, but it was steadily losing health when 5 Bees were slept, leading me to believe that the Ramparts are in fact timed, and not based on how many Bees you have killed. In total, it lost 8% health whilst the Mages recovered MP.
But yeah, am I missing something here? :/
The Reactionary Ramparts are utterly random and will thus appear utterly cruel, but you did not do anything wrong. There's no trick to my knowledge that isn't pure superstition (time of day, keeping rampart claimed, THF getting hate first, etc.).Originally Posted by Aemora
The number of mobs is capped at 5. If there are 5 mobs present when the next Reinforcements would occur, the rampart will lose 1% health but will not spawn another mob. This will continue until a mob is defeated or the rampart runs out of HP. Avoid getting overwhelmed or you lose spawns! So in short, the Ramparts ARE on a timer and have a capped time of 25 minutes after engaging with them, as it uses 'Reinforcement' pops every 15 seconds.
And our luck sucks. k.
Bhaflau is making up for our Arrapagos.
20 minute timer, and approximately 11 seconds per reinforcement, around 100 total (might be slightly over)
