An extra minute to kill the two mellee resistent flans doesn't mean much in the grand scheme. Any chance of losing the rampart (assuming you're trying to pop) isn't worth a couple of minutes. You're likely to have a mellee heavy party anyway of Rampart runs to take care of the reinforcement mobs.Originally Posted by blowfin
Formless Strike seems to be an issue. How much damage can that do in one hit?
Don't use Formless Strikes.Originally Posted by Ambir
I said this about ten times prior to a rampart run, and a monk used it anyway.
I finally got the MNK to disengage. We slept it, kited it around and tried to make it lose aggro, no dice. Finally, I had the RDM sleep it again, everyone log out, and I sac pulled it - (and managed to lose aggro). It regened to 100%, and spikes went back up on the retry.
Rampart popped 3 NMs, one dropped Sune-ate, and thankfully I beat the numbskull on the lot (this was a preliminary run, before we had a set group, so it was sort of a pickup party).
This was the same MNK who was using a Reraise Hairpin against Mad Bomber (which blew up at 2%)...
When you're trying to cram a whole lot into a run a few minutes can basically be the difference between certain getting drops or not. We don't really have the luxury of having a particularly flexible (or large) group so those flans can chew up a fair bit of time, not to mention the stupid bees. I'm not telling you that you have to go and try it I'm just saying that the running theory isn't quite correct. I'm interested in knowing more if people have information.Originally Posted by Ambir

btw loltheory:
darksday night for 2F pulled door with blind
firesday morning for 3F pulled door with burn
i'm not saying it work but this is so funny lol
You pulled with a DOT?Originally Posted by Arthars
If a dot make the monsters pop, I'm more than willing to use something that will deal the rampart 3-4% damage to see 1NM. Would be funny if it works, i always wanted to test that but never remembered to do it when I was fighting rampart.
I doubt burn would land, those ramparts are immune to status effects afaik
thats what i thought LOL since enfeebles never seem to work on themOriginally Posted by Vistani
but then the blm's burn did land lol we went lol
then went lol again when a NM pop
gotta try with threnody next time lol
When I think about it, it's unlikely to be the condition to activate the rampart >_>...would make those level 35 way too easy to get.
hhaha its gotta be just luck
its not even a theory i just find it funny thats all
rained...................
and poured..................

Question, was that widow from yesterday run or today? If it was today, did you pull with the right element again?
i did the lolelement thing again....
earth threnody on windsday on 1F rampart
3 widow 2 drops
2F ice day so i used wind threnody lol no drop
3F ice day used wind threnody also 1 NM and WHM BLM died to colibri and we ejected out (killed) door after 1 NM is killed
trust me good god 6man doing 3F rampart is VERY HARD, spell reflect sucks and the damn NM has lotsa HP and hits hard LOL
anyway the element thing just trying for fun, i dont think it works
Ramparts = Luck
i think i will face this fact >.>
Getting 3 rampart to pop NM on same run is still awesome tho <_> It's not uncommon to see none.
We did a 6 man collibri the other day without any trouble. I believe our setup was: war/nin x2, war/thf (g.axe), rdm/blm, whm, brd. The brd spend the whole fight spamming charm. >_> With 5mp ballad, 3mprefresh and sanction, mage shouldnt run out of mp. Phalanx 2 +regen 3 help a lot, since collibri hit for 40-50dmg. (-20dmg + 20hp regen nullify almost every damage taken).
