Certainly not 50% lol. Maybe 20-25%. For the record, I retract my previous statement of sticking around for the full Rampart even if nothing pops early. It's been working wonders to stick around only for the first 25-45% and just cutting it short if no pops and moving onto the next one.

I have never seen the bee NM the whole entire time I've done salvage. So many bees killed -_- Hate that rampart.

It's pretty safe to say that if you don't get any 35 dropping NMs within the first 50% or so, then it's not worth it to stick around.

Just keep spamming Bhaflau and you'll eventually get a rampart that really puts out. It's really all just luck.

Got 3 Gate Widows on our last run and 2 Marduk Leg drops. While that's fine and dandy and I'm certainly not complaining since I ended up with a pair, we were really hoping for Cuffs. We haven't gotten any 35 Morrigans in over 2 months. =/

Just attempted our first Bhaflau NM run with 2 mnks. However, we lost Mad Bomber to self destruct at around 30% even though both mnks 2hrs. Felt like it had more HP than I imagined, since I thought 2 100 fists would surely kill the thing. I'm wondering what's the necessary setup in order to take down Mad Bomber without fail with a 6 man group. Also, would a war and a mnk both 2hring work?

Mad Bomber with only 2 melees is definitely no joke. I've done it with the 2 melees being THF and MNK, but I'm sure there was only a few seconds left, if even that. What we did was the following:

THF + MNK both had Dusty Wings from chests.
MNK had a braver's drink or something.
Both built to 300 TP before engaging mad bomber.
BRD Soul Voiced + Double Minuet
Opened with Howling Fist > Dancing Edge for distortion followed by magic burst.
both used Dusty wing and another WS, but no SC.
THF hits Feint, MNK 2 hours, BLM manafonted, and then just tried to dish out as much damage as possible.


When we killed it, it was so big that it took up about half the room and I'm pretty sure it had less than 5 seconds before self-destruct. If you know you're going in with only 2 melee, bring icarus wings instead in case you don't get dusty wings.

Honestly though, if nobody has a relic I think the closest you might be able to come is with a MNK and SAM or MNK and RNG/SAM. Have your RDM Chainspell+Nuke as well to help.

One thing I've noticed about Mad Bomber is that blunt damage seems to be weakened on it for some reason. Asuran Fists would always do around 400-600 whereas everyone else would be doing 1.5k to 2k or so. Should be fine with a WAR in there.

Only noticed this twice, never really paid attention to how much MNKs were doing until recently but I'm sorta suprised no one else had mentioned it (unless if it's not something that happens everytime, which would be weird)

Did Bhaflau Ramparts. We finally saw some NMs today (3 Gate Widow, 5 Skirmish Pephredo) but no drops from any even with 2 thf >.<. A gear linked on 4F so we didnt get to try the birds.

The one thing we tried differently today was to have the same person (was a thf) who brought us into the zone be the one to open the dormant ramparts and also be the person to pull the reactionary rampart. Has anyone tried doing this and not have a NM pop? Trying to figure out if there is a trick to having them turned 'on' or if it is just random.

I'm always THF, always the person to enter the zone, always the person to enter the Dormant Rampart, and always the person to claim the Reactionary Rampart. We rarely get NMs.

I tried having our thief zone in a few time (which is why I asked you to instance the zone a few days ago), but never noticed any difference really. It's just a conspiracy theories, like pulling rampart with the spell of the day.

And save yourself the word "finally" for when you see an nm pop after 15 runs You guys got lucky to see that many NM after 3 runs. .

Killed mad bomber with ease today in my new AU time salvage group. Only melees were NIN THF MNK, I would use fire3 a few times whm also nuked, but MNK's hundred fists raped it to bits.

was only 5 ppl
had mnk, war, rdm x2, and thf
MB was up, killed and did 1F rampart.
Gate Widow spawned 3x and 1 dropped cuffs and the other dropped cuffs/legs, so 2/3 on widow drops, first time I ever seen the NM

went to 2F and spawned the rampart
Bee NM spawned 9 times for us, 5 of those 9 dropped items, ended up with freya mask x 2 and 3 x Usukane feet

went to 3F and spawned the rampart, only had less than 10min left when we clicked on the rampart
Zacha NM spawned once and dropped us ares hands, we were cutting it close as we killed him at the 30sec mark to get kicked out, people passed right away for our war

9 drops, I don't think we'll ever see this again since we only seen the bee NM once and the other NMs never spawn for us before
what sucks is most of our regulars missed out since we did this at 6am in the morning when I just felt like going and took whoever was online and most was free lotted :/

Last night for the first time since I started doing salvage in February, we finally got Skirmish Pephredo to pop. In fact, 3 popped, the first dropping Freyr's Mask and the 3rd dropping the Usu feet. Then I had my group kill the rampart to move onwards (was going after 4F rampart since Mad Bomber wasn't up and I've been 2/3 on marduk legs for a couple months now), but I messed up the gear pulls so we wound up wiping to an unweakened LBC. XD

Anyway, this was the first time we popped the rampart by killing the flans counter-clockwise. I was also casting earth threnody on it (during earthsday -- entered bhaflau during firesday), and the NM popped shortly afterwards each time. It was also nighttime the entire time we fought the lolbees, though that has been the case many times before w/ no NM pops. So, I basically did everything I could in line w/ the rumors I've heard for popping bees, and finally had results. Of course, it's probably likely that they just randomly popped and nothing else had any bearing, but does anyone have any faith in anything we did having an effect on the # of NMs that popped?
