Yeah, killshot will not remove, but 1% with a Burst II will almost always remove.

People told me a while back you could do nuke x2 at the same time to pop the rampart, I supose they were bs'ing then and never actually tried?Originally Posted by Wizerd
It might be possible in the sense that -aga III nuking the 3 Eyes (the ones that pop NMs) in Dynamis - Xarcabard was possible, even more the claim patch, without aggroing the NMs. It just requires specific timing, so they hit at pretty much the exact same time. I wouldn't risk it myself though if I were looking for the 2F Rampart. One AM2 already does nearly or over 50% of its HP. I'm sure melee can hit it down to 50%.Originally Posted by Kaylia
it depends on who your BLM is and how well he/she is unlocked.Originally Posted by Kaylia

Theres no fix damage in the remnants unless you are fully unlocked. God knows when you got lucky on INT cells on first box and when your not.
for my group, we always only have 1 BLM, so we nuke at 30% ONLY regardless how well BLM is unlocked to prevent screw ups.
WE flan we melee only. however i like to WS at 6-7% to safe a few seconds of my life.
You don't WS the west or east flans throughout the fight...?Originally Posted by Arthars
yea i dont. they weak to melee damage and i dont want them to off spike after an asurian fist or jin midway.
WE flan takes alot of melee damage anyway and dies fast
I only WS NS ones.
Have never had west/east flan lose spikes, ever, under any condition. You can do anything to them and they won't lose them, melee, magic, WS, just take care not kill them prior to actually gaining spikes, like if they open with AM cast.

Also..got to 4th floor and as soon as I made the right turn towards the first gear room BAM the gear warped, wasn't even near the room yet that wind weather bs is true i guess.....
Crappy emo run!
Earthsday nighttime waning 80%ish moon! for bees
not only winds day
any weather effects will improve gear's aggro and link range
however bhaflau remnants only got wind weather
zhaolym got earth weather
forgot what other 2 have
I succeeded in pulling all 10s just four times ( out of 10 ish tries), and the last two times, I remember we had no weather. And last time I failed, we had actually weather. I really believe in the link theory during weather.
if have time, you can either
1. wait for wind to go off
2. really chicken out and only pull when its isolated.
hug corner or wall and use radar to check. take note party members dont cast spell or stay where they like they do on normal day.
CAMP FAR!
The group I go with WS's all 4 flans from start to finish. The only time we didnt pop 2F rampart was when one of our MNKs used Formless Strikes w/o knowing that would cause spikes to drop.
while you guys are talking about the bees, can i get some advice on how you handle it?.
One of my groups is very new to salvage (and me being a blm tend to stand back from the action in other shells so miss things xD).
We did a bhaf run on friday and popped the 2f rampart (mad bomber wasnt up for 1fw).
Our party setup was
Blm/rdm(me), Thf/nin
Mnk/War, Rdm/Blm(a error on my part i think, /whm next time), sam/war, war/nin, thf/nin, drk/thf
our strat was to basically have each melee taking out a bee solo, this worked fine to start with as they didnt do much damage, however over time the damage because to add up and our rdm ran into mp issues.
Next time we do this, we will probably have a whm along with us, and have our rdm sub whm. Were thinking the curgas and regen should cover us.
When you do it, do you have melee pretty much soloing bees as they come? or have all your melee concentrate on the same bee? Also what do you do if/when the nm pops, do you sleep the other 4 bees and kill nm, or have someone kite? Any advice would be great ^^
Your setup lacks a BRD.
Don't have everyone on a bee; just gangbang them as they pop. There should be at most 2-3 bees up at a time. They do really weak damage, so a regen and the occasional cure2 should suffice. Get phalanx2 merits, put it on your likely tank (monk) and you probably won't even have to cure.Originally Posted by Daiiawn
NM dies in like 20 seconds, no real need to do anything special with the other bees in the meantime.
ok ty for advice ^^, i think were going to do silver sea on wed and try gg on floor 3 (did the morrigan slops 2f one last time and went well though i forget its name XD). We may be having a run tomorrow so i may suggest we try this again.
oh i knew i meant to ask something else bee related lol, when they pop, is it random who they go after to start with or do they have shared hate? ie if all our melee are on one bee and another pops, will it go for the player that is "tanking" the one they were fighting or someone at random?
we pretty much just do w/e on rampart mobs. I tell ppl to try to fight the same one but we just kill as fast as possible so ppl fight w/e. usually ppl get on same mob but never been a big deal to us.
seems like they usually just go after who ever is closest or random ppl.
usually run with 2mnk, thf, whm, brd, rdm, 1-2blm. sometimes have extras or no blm.
Yeah, bee's initial target seems to be chosen at random.
A fair amount of time it'll be the person closest to the rampart, but there's nothing to stop them chasing after the mage standing off in the corner.
