    Re: Salvage - Bhaflau Remnants - thread2

For our group I have no idea really since I was blm and I just casting DoTs when the NIN went down, didn't even use TP moves yet though I don't think we had time to put on Slow II etc. Wasn't really expecting him to go down THAT fast.

Anyways I'll try to get them to up their DEF to 420.

Also, the other BLM (ok I consider him lolWTF gimp but he's a friend so w/e... he's still gimp) was reporting that he couldn't land elemental enfeebles at all (with full gear unlocked). So question is, how important is INT (and MND for rdms) on resists.

And, if it is important, should we just spend an extra 10 minutes farming stats instead of going up?

It's not a hard number, just in general the higher the better. 250 will definitely get you smacked around like a girl. I know people usually think loldef, but it makes a huge difference against this particular boss.

If you've got 40 minutes left, then sure. If you've got 25 minutes left, then maybe not. In general if you can survive for 15 or 20 minutes, you can survive for 25 or 30 minutes. INT is nice to have, but it doesn't make the fight much easier, just a little bit quicker.

Has anybody in the history of Salvage had a single rampart NM pop of all rampart reinforcements? It's always 0 NMs or at least 2 NMs for me per rampart.

The one time I saw Skirmish Pephredo was the only time I saw Skirmish Pephredo. Got the Feets, but haven't seen it since, and I've logged 5 attempts between my two groups.

I think the 3rd floor condition might be wrong. Should probably go back to the drawing board.

Has anyone said they've known the third floor conditions since killing without using Restoral was debunked? As far as I'd seen noone had been able to kill both Gears in "3 Gear" mode?

There's still other possibilities too. Kill both 3 gears without aggroing any 1 gears. Kill all 1 gears without aggroing any 3 gears. Kill some gears before a certain amount of time has passed in the zone. Kill gears without aggroing/killing any flans or trolls. etc.

I don't know if they made the mega boss easier but today after a successful card farm, we decided to try LBC with 1 PLD/WAR. We proceeded to kill it in 15 mins with minor trouble and one tank. Only fitting that the tank got the Phobos Cuirass lol.

    Drops:
    Nemian Sabots x2
    Hoshikazu Tekko
    Phobos Cuirass
    Ea's dastanas
    Bhaflau card

I doubt they made LBC any easier, but Therin told me about your win; what melees were on him, and what mages did you have?

    I believe we were:

PLD MNK RNG THF WAR BLM x 5 2 WHM 1 BRD 2 RDM. Maybe 1-2 more DDs.

Was probably asked already, but is it possible the pop rate is distributed unevenly between all 4 rampart. One floor might have high NM rate, while the other have low/retarded pop rate. Or people got high pop rate on more than one rampart the same night. Wondering if it worth it to go after multiple rampart if you got the nm to pop.

A single PLD/WAR actually worked pretty well as a way to tank LBC, when you have a decent BLM force (5). It definitely was a lot more fun that going /NIN, and a lot faster too (had to deal with more TP moves but it died in 12-13 minutes versus the typical 20-25, since you can drop SCs on it much faster from the start and not have to worry about BLMs pulling hate).

A fully-geared PLD with VIT unlocked and Kaiser head, Koenig body, Defender, Tacos and Phalanx 2 will make LBC do about 110-150 per hit, 30-42 when shield blocked. Crits still did 250-300 though. No D. Ring or Hauteclaire.

    God that was fun.

..Yeah, I would have to say that the 5 BLMs is what made it go faster.

From what it sounds like, Therin was able to hold hate solidly enough so that the BLMs didn't have to show (as much) restraint. Very nice job, though? How many Homing Missiles went off --- or did your BLMs manage to range error it?

Our group usually kills LBC within 10-15 mins or so with just 1-2 BLM using MNK and NIN tank as the primary DD and BLM focusing on damage at 20% or less.

For LBC to take 20-25 mins, he must've been raping your alliance big time...

Our last LBC kill was 9:12 with 8 people

Seriously, with 5 BLM, why do you even have a tank?

What bugs the hell out of me is the 2-rampart system going on the first and second floor. MB and its rampart can appear in two different rooms on the same side. If you kill flans one way, rampart pops in one room. If you kill flans another way, rampart pops in another room.

Is it to tip you off that those ramparts can drop 2 different kinds of 35s? Is one rampart the "lucky" one? Is one rampart more likely to drop a certain 35 than the other? Is it just because Bhaflau is designed that way?

    WHY!

    Re: Salvage - Bhaflau Remnants - thread2

I just had a massive light bulb.

If it were possible to pop the 4th floor (Peryton) rampart on both the east and the west routes, then wouldn't there have to be 2 Dormant Ramparts in the DAT files for the 4th floor? There's not though, there's exactly 4 Dormant Ramparts, one for each Reactionary Rampart.

This leads me to believe the following: You cannot access the Peryton rampart by using the west teleporter from 3F -> 4F.

If that's true, then the following should be true: If a rampart is poppable on the 4th floor west, it is the Zebra Zachary rampart.

I'm honestly not sure why everyone in the world goes east on the 3rd floor instead of west, but this is definitely something to try.

When you successfully pop the Peryton rampart on 4F, where specifically does the Dormant Rampart pop? If it pops in the center room at (H-7) then my first assumption may be wrong since it could in theory use the same mob ID for both Dormant Ramparts. But I don't think so.

Another consequence of this (if true) is that it will never be possible to kill Peryton and Zebra Zachary in the same run. This actually fits more in line with other zones. In no other Salvage zone can you get every single Lv. 35 in the same run. In Silver Sea you can't get Enlil's Brayettes and Macha's Slops in the same run. In Arrapago you can't get Ares's Mask and Macha's Crown in the same run. In Zhayolm presumably there is a 5F N and a 5F S item that can't be gotten in the same run. If Bhaflau were different, and you could get every item in the same run, that would break an element of symmetry. Possible, but not likely.

Edit: Bleh, just realized there's only 1 Mad Bomber / Mad Bomber Rampart in the DATs too

Hold on. Hasn't Aircommand reported Deimos' Gauntlets coming from the 3rd floor rampart?

Also, you can't feasibly pop every single rampart in the same run without killing Reactionary Ramparts before they expire naturally. I think with ideal cells and like 12 people, you can barely knock out 3. Maybe 2 and a half. This kind of imposes the similar route-based limiting factor on 35s as seen in other zones.

Until there's a believable screenshot, there's always a possibility it was fabricated, just like the Peacock Charm screenshot from Hakutaku was. Air himself didn't report it, just some random anonymous guy on the forum.
