No reason not to go west. I guess it wouldn't hurt to kill off the gears next LBC and see if colibri or tragopans come out. Ares' hands is surprisingly popular and I'd love to start checking them off the list.

knowing your rampart luck though, you're not gonna be checking anything off the list anytime soon
oh wait, it doesn't drop shit you want, guess you'll see another 5 NM and triple drop within 5 min XD
Has anyone tried Smn vs. LBC? I'd imagine noctoshield, dream shred and earthen ward are great for tanks. Despite smn being a big cell hog in the beginning, i'd think this is very doable.
Because we didn't even intend for it to be an LBC run, so none of our BLMs were sub NIN. We finished our original plans for the run with 15 minutes left so we just jumped up to LBC and went for it.Originally Posted by Zilong
Typically our strategy for LBC is tanking with two PLD/NINs and Bursting Darkness. We don't have melees TP on it past 100% so that it won't spam TP moves, and our PLDs continuously move from side to side. This is so that it doesn't use Homing Missle.
As for your question Ayn, it only used Homing Missle once, when a BLM pulled hate at like 12%. I was moving to the sides continuously so it wouldn't use it.

It's not, AoE would still own the stoneskin faster than BP: Ward timer even with just 2 melee tanking it with subtle blow and penance, and unless you have good defense setup, a few (un)lucky crit and triples can still destroy shadowless tank with or without phalanx/stoneskin.Originally Posted by alphacat
They'd be a decent pseudo-WHM and eraser, and maybe AF on the last few percent, but all things considered, they're just like a really bad RDM/WHM in that regard.
In reply to the NIN DD tanks dying easily, this is usually due to not keeping it simple stupid and the lack of HP on the NINs. Make sure your RDM(s) keep Slow II and Para II up first and foremost, and your Bard is keeping Elegy up. I would still say MNK DD tank > NIN DD tank for this, though, because they are both going to be running the same defense in a pure DD setup, but the MNK HP is going to give the mages more time to react. Maybe a hybrid NIN/WAR setup with like an Arhat's Gi on or something, but at that point you might as well have your NIN go /DRK and let your MNK and BLMs unleash on it.
Actually on floor 2 if you kill the north flan last it will pop in that room too, I assume the same is true for the south room as well. So theres even more to bother you!Originally Posted by Almalexia
Concerning the third floor rampart, if anyone remembers the condition on the wiki was orignally posted alongside false information that triple gears lost a gear with any TP move, which wouldve made the idea of killing them with all 3 gears much more sane. I dont really have any info on the real pop condition, just more sway to debunk the old one.
To be fair, the MB and its rampart can only spawn on 1 side and the EF and their rampart are in 1 section, unlike 4F rampart which is on both sides at all times, so your idea still makes sense. Also, is there anything special about 3F gears? The MB and EF are NMs and 4F gears teleport, so they're all "special." Also, whatever happened to reports of 3F Trolls/flan just spawning out of nowhere? I think you may have reported that? Was that proven to be false/a bug/something?Originally Posted by divisortheory
Also, there is also unfairness in 2 of Arrapago's NMs: Bhoot and flayer. Their drops do not appear multiple times (unlike Qiqirn), they each have 1 drop (unlike chariots), and you can only fight 1and not the other in a single run (unlike both Qiqirn and chariots). However, they do seem to have the highest drop rates out of all 4 NM types. Maybe something similar applies here.
What would you guys give the droprate of Skirmish Pephredo on the 35 Usukane feet? Just got Sune-Ate from LAC and was looking to do a few farming runs (3 lvl 25 Sune-Ate in last 3 kills, last kill was a double drop). Whats pop rate on Skirmish, and droprate on the feet?
From my experience, the nm never pops.
PS. die for getting 3 usukane feet in 2 runs. Alternatively, would you like to trade for some of our freyr jerkins?
I know right? But his pop rate is that bad?![]()
Whats the minimum you need to farm them then? If its 6 i could get people to do it daily...
6 is enough, I would take a blm for aga3 add control though, the bees get pretty annoying when you get all 5 out.
There's 4 Ramparts.Originally Posted by divisortheory

Second floor you have to melee flans; takes 5 minutes. A further 15-20 on the Rampart.
Third floor you have to kill Tri-Gears without Restoral. Kill that, and the links that may ensue, but not on one, but both sides; takes 5-20 minutes, depending on luck. A further 15-20 on the Rampart.
Fourth Floor you gotta kill 10 Gears each within 60 seconds; amounts to 10 minutes with that running in between and that Chariot + Tri-Gear room; takes 15-25 minutes total. A further 15-20 on the Rampart.
These figures don't really include the time inbetween Ramparts either, to farm for cells. I'm curious to know how it's possible to get every item in this run with a limit of 100 minutes placed on you when you can only really hit up any 2 Ramparts with the time constrictions you are given. :/ There's your symmetry.
Nothing's to stop you from leaving early though. As soon as you get a Gate Widow drop (which hasn't been taking very long at all for some groups) you can kill the rampart and move on. Likewise with the others.Originally Posted by Aemora
Hasn't Restoral kills been proven false? I don't think killing them in 2-gear/3-gear mode has been, though. Assuming Zachery isn't spawned from 4FW rampart.
My response to this is lolbees. What would you guys give the droprate of Skirmish Pephredo on the 35 Usukane feet? But my other serious response.. uh, I think we've done this rampart 4 times. First three times it never popped, the last time it popped out 4 bees.
And all we got was a crappy Mask. We had no Thief, though, as it was intended to be a boss run, and I'm basically the only Thief in our Salvage group (since I was on Monk).
Reproduced. Confirmed. Enjoy your easy LBCs from now on.Originally Posted by TB
So its just killing the 4f gears? before restoral or what? Planning some LBC runs in a week or so, but I'm a little confused about how to weaken LBC.
Well a sufficient condition is entering the Dormant Rampart on the 4th floor, killing Tragopans until the Rampart is at 50% (0 Peryton pops), then killing the Rampart. Not sure if it's necessary and sufficient, however. It could be you don't even need to enter the rampart at all, but rather just pop it. Or it could be that each gear killed weakens it slightly.Originally Posted by Beckwin
Edit: to pop it you need to kill all 10 gears. This is the place where they warp away if they aggro you, and if they warp away it doesn't count as a kill. So, if any single gear (triple gears don't count) aggroes you, it's unclear if you lose your chance to weaken LBC.
